  1. I would love to see you guys get behind Taneycomo as the fly shop on record. Cool!
  2. I know.. I saw it and had to buy it. It was broken.. so it cost me $2 plus the amount of JBWELD. It is delicious in every way.
  3. I am not sure exactly... but if you ask a 10-20 year old I bet they could tell you.
  4. This link is the most comprehensive I have found to this point - some companies will be releasing thier videos today (Wednesday) ahead of schedule to get the ball rolling on the ' social media ' idea of the watchers to ' pick the outcome ' or ending of the commercial. Enjoy! The VW commercial is getting the most buzz. http://www.businessinsider.com/2013-super-bowl-ads-everything-we-know-2012-12?op=1
  5. I found an ant in my bed today... ha-ha - its a cast iron ant about 10 inches long
  6. The large leg order hasn't come in yet, but I figured out now that one drop of Gorilla Glue Super Glue works best for the dot holding strength, and now I use Rainy's foam for the ant.
  7. I think from what I read on the NBC link - this stuff isn't supposed to be totally submersible. " Yet it can't be totally impermeable. "It's a very, very porous coating — porous to anything that's gas-based, but not to anything liquid." That means ordinary air and water vapor can pass through — helpful when you don't want your clothing to stifle you. "
  8. I am not 100% sure what ' superonmiphobic ' means, but it is sure is cool to watch ! Watch the video and then read the NBC article. Amazing what we can come up with. video - http://www.popsci.com/science/article/2013-01/video-liquid-bounces-new-superomniphobic-material article - http://www.nbcnews.com/technology/futureoftech/superomniphobic-material-shrugs-oil-blood-acid-more-1B8002723
  9. EDIT - I erased my angry message after giving it more thought. -

  11. Hi Wayne.. where is that you live ?
  12. Phil, would this same sort of idea work for winter lodging as well ?
  13. What are your opinions on fluorocarbon as tippet material... ? Standard regular old fishing line as tippet, or a little more expensive name brand stuff or maybe you use other stuff I didn't even know about ?!? Or that latest fanciest of fluorocarbon is the only way to go to the fly ?What about leaders ? fluoro or mono ? Is it the cost ? or..................... ??
  14. It depends... soft hackles of the small size I use 6x standard mono... Cracklebacks the same.. depending on size. If its a huge crackleback.. I use huge tippet.. sometimes as heavy as 2x (like for the big ugly) I do not use fluorocarbon as I do not like the way it kinks / shows and holds issues.
  15. I just received a CD of 41 pics from that 2005 trip... so I will share them all.. as soon as I figure out how.....but first. here is the man that made it all possible : Rolan, and here is our man Phil, spinfishing a rather large deep slough...

  18. I know a guy who knows a guy who saw a Brown trout eat a baby duck off the surface in Taneycomo. All fish can be ferocious.

  24. These items were donated to the Shepherd of the Hills Humane Society where my mom volunteers. I have no idea what they are. Gotta be something to do with hunting.... Advantage Camo pattern. This 1st picture of whatever this is is about the size of a bottle of wine, has a strap and a cinch at the top : These next two are a right and a left.. so either for arms or legs more than likely, they are lined with a gray wool like fleece, and the velcro has some kind of purpose : Anybody know what the heck these items are ? I have no idea... kinda hard to google search when you don't even know what to call it. Thanks for looking!
