  1. Just FYI, 713.2 and still running 21,000cfs. Brian
  2. I'm in.. your reasoning sure makes sense to me. Brian quick question, what happened to the Royals ?? they started off so good..
  3. 80lb spoonbill ???? That is one fish I gotta see. There are so prehistoric looking. A fish that doesn't belong in Taney for sure.
  4. Phil, is that a gar that guy is holding?? the longnose one or the alligator ?? Oh and that picture of the house at Pointe Royale... ugh... such a nice home. Brian
  5. Daniel who ??? Descalso's homer in the 7th inning...awesome.. and Sanchez.. what a stud! Brian
  6. Glad to see things getting back to normal Phil. Really glad. Is the Fish Cleaning house still functional ? Brian
  7. Yikes! Great video footage Phil and crew! Where else can you get an exact look at Taney ? no where but here Brian
  8. That includes the gate flow.. 21,000cfs is a far cry from 67,500. Lets hope things get back to normal sooner rather than later. Won't be long my friends, Taney will be night-fishable soon. Brian
  9. I chose Taneycomo... the least judged fishery against the White. Heck, it's where I caught my first trout. 2nd I choose a secret spot where I go to catch bluegill all day long. The golfers know who I am. it is kinda fun to see where we all fish - Brian
  10. I say - just find a cheapy-cheapo that lines up right with your flyrod .. the fly line is the big deal here. Bass Pro just came out with a rod like this called " HEAT ". It looks odd.. but I know it would big bugs plenty easy. Jut make sure your line matches the flyrod you are throwing ... by air resiliency and ability to keep tracking straight. The more crazy bouncing and shock sent to the line because the rod couldn't handle the line.. that's when you get problems. my .02 == check it out, try before you buy, bring your reel and line and throw it Brian
  11. The guys at Hook and Hackle run sales often.. if you need a fresh new fly line.. you might be able to pick one up from them for just $25! They are first rate lines manufactured by a major company too.. the name rhymes with Cortland. I just bought 4 lines on Wednesday and got them Saturday -- original retail was 33.95.. they shipped quick and the lines are nicely coated and supple. $100 total for 4 quality lines. ( price is a little better than $75 at local shops for the almost exact same thing ) If you are in the market, give them a try. Brian you gotta keep checking prices to get the deals, the lines can be found here : http://store.hookhack.com/HH-Weight-Forward-Lines/products/714/ http://store.hookhack.com/HH-Double-Taper-Lines/products/715/ buy at $25 and save yourself some extra coin ~
  12. Yeah.. I still wouldn't shoot that shoot in a kayak... Still a little too much drop for my tastes. Great picture denjac!
  13. I talked with K inside the powerhouse last night and she wasn't aware of a drop. But like all news.. it travels fast. Brian
  14. Sounds like an all around excellent day! Keep em coming .. all of them just like this one. A 6# largemouth and 19inch 'green trout' ?!?!... sounds you have a banner day! And seeing a family of otters is the icing on the cake in my opinion! Where abouts were you fishing ? Brian
  15. So the gates are shut to not keep feeding T/R so much water ??? or the lake crested so there is no need to dump, just generate ? Great pics by the way. Thanks for posting those.
  16. Four in a row.... and 8 of our last 10... not looking too shabby! And the Cardinals have scored more runs than any team in the league to this point! let's hope they keep it up..... EDIT - 5 in a row.. GO CARDS! 5/1/11
  17. I knew a guy named Sputty who fished down there years ago... one time night fishing he caught an 11 or 13 pound walleye.. and he thought he had the lake record brown... turned out it was just a walleye. He let it go to.
  18. Dang.. that made me hungry for some fish!~ Rather unorthodox methods of cleaning... but you gotta do what you gotta do...
  19. To save a little money on lines.. you might consider a company named Hook and Hackle. I believe it is hookhack.com They have lines for all kinds of price ranges and the are made by a major company.. way better than the Bass Pro branded lines. Case in point, I ordered 4 lines at $25 each on Wednesday and they got here today. I just looked up the current price on the same lines and they are at $33.95... so you gotta watch they put certain lines on sale. I also will give a big thumbs up to Glide line dressing.. but you have to put it on .. let it sit.. and wipe it off.. I really wipe it down or buff it a bunch to make sure it is all off. by the way Jack, there is a section here called Rods,Reels,Lines,Leaders,Waders under the Fly Fishing header. Just scroll down on the main page to find it.
  20. I say this.. go back to Bass Pro and look at some of the current rods they offer. Reason I say that, I have 2 Bass Pro rods I just love.. the Classic 6'3" 3pc 3wt and the 7ft 4wt 2pc Dogwood Canyon. The rods cast just fine when they are lined up right - and they in no way break the bank. And they have a new Classic reel and a nice looking 270 reel.. and the Osprey reel which is very smooth.. .. Just be sure to look there before you try to " keep up with the Jonses " so to say. just my advice.. Brian
  21. jeb posted this pic on the Beaver Lake page, so I swiped it and put it up here : thanks for the pic jeb..
  22. I sure hope the guys can help Carp get his 1st win of the season today. I grew up watching TBS and the Braves every chance I could.. just like WGN and the Cubs day games.. but I am Cardinals fan thru and thru so I hope we clobber them.
  23. MoPanfisher - I bet the # of MW generated will be higher than our current national debt. Brian
  24. There are probably crappie and whites and various other how knows whatsits hanging around the sheltered inlet of the boat ramp. It'd fun to throw a heavy jig or spoon on 6lb and see what happens! In the years past.. I have slayed the whites on the fly during times like this.. usually with the water a bit lower though. 20-30+ fish in a few hours.
  25. We would be better off trying to find Isringhausen.... or Dave Veres... man I despise closers with issues. Case in point.. tonight's game. If Berkman hadnt eaten his Wheaties and gone all Superman today this would have been another loss by committee. but hey - a wins a win.. right ?
