  1. Those are the cleanest most crisp shots ... nice work.
  2. Dano - thanks for posting that!! I was really wondering about RR. That is really not all that bad at all.. things will get to normal there pretty good, ya think ? Wonder what kind of time table we are talking about.... Brian
  3. I was just kidding you guys... sorry.
  4. Yep. I watched one guy catch 2 gar, a catfish, and a chain pickerel. Saw another guy lose the biggest striped bass I ever did see. It jumped like a tarpon and broke him off. Grey scud too.. size 14 I think. Honest. Brian
  5. Wow. That amount of water is just mind blowing. I never thought I would see the day. How many extra cables did you get to tied up to help secure the dock, Phil ? Is it going to hold for the possible 2 weeks of really heavy water ? Brian
  6. til Christmas.... til Christmas.... (nah.. just kidding ya) but it is going to be for a long while
  7. Dave Whitlock used what were called Vibert boxes as his instream incubators. They really worked well.. evidence by the spawners that return that same gravel year and year. The book Ozark Trout Tales by Steven Wright goes into great depth about how the White got browns going. Brian
  8. I am not sure that is the Corps of Engineers fault as much as it is South West Power Administration... SWPA will not let loose water unless it is being sold for peak demand prices. They want to keep as much water in these lakes as humanly possible. Think of is as pennies sliding the turbines... now look at like SWPA does.. and those pennies are quarters. just my .02, errr.. two pennies - Brian
  9. Those are some of the best pictures yet of how the upper end parking lots have lasted out this devastating rainstorm. And that was at 5pm.. the height .. and the hopeful fallout of the waters wrath. Great shots of the mudslide on the dam.. and chute 1 which I didn't get to see first hand. The resolution is very good on whatever camera you are using. It's so disgusting and yet so mesmerizing at the same time. I can't seem to look away.. but yet.. I must. Ugh! The access at Pointe looks sickening.. I love that little spot. I can't imagine how this will change the features. Nice job David, and your Jeep looks awesome by the way. That's a nice rig Brian
  10. My knowledge on this subject.. from my 1995 records.. they wouldn't open the auxiliary gates unless the lake reached 949. Which means.. the dam itself would already be ready to be compromised. This is a link to the 1995 proposal (updated 2010?).. where at that time the price was negotiated from 55mil to 75mil when it was all said and done : http://www.swl.usace.army.mil/projmgt/trspillway.html ( be sure to back click or might click out of OzarkAnglers, but read it and get a kick out of the outdated logic and info ) If I remember right, the 10 TR gates are capable of dishing out 650,000cfs after being fully opened. I do wonder sometimes why they call it " flood control " in situations like this. Those 100yr, 500yr, 1,000yr flood instances are just propaganda. The aux spill is there if Beaver ever lost its grip.. totally and completely, and we (TR Lake and TR Dam) would have to hold an alarming amount of water in a very short time. That's the explanation I got 7 years ago. Some think this is false info.. you be the judge. Brian
  11. David - thanks for joining in! You gotta be pumped living in STL for this seasons progress thus far. Tuesday's game; that was a rough one to lose. My brother in Houston got to gloat about the walk-off win. Ugh! Our bullpen still needs a little work.. and our closers do too... but once we get things figured out.... We will be the force to be reckoned with in the NL Central! All teams play thru us to get to the fall classic this year. ( i just gotta keep telling myself that ) Brian
  12. Lets hope your trip is later rather then sooner L/F. Not all is lost though.. fish still gotta eat don't they ? I wish everyone who is affected by this LT flood luck as well. Brian
  13. Your information is invaluable, Fozzype... thank you for posting that. Check this link for a quick refresher on the Dam and Lake specifics : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Table_Rock_Lake Just be sure to click back and not close it out or you will click out. Brian
  14. Here is the latest up to date info on the river levels as of 7:19pm Wednesday evening: Table Rock is running 4 units, tailwater level is 934.4 / lake level is 727.7 Beaver running is 2 units, tailwater level is 1129.4 / lake level is 937.8 The increased opening of the gates is drawing the lake down.. but the lake is really being given a lot of water from all angles. Brian EDIT 5:39am Thursday morning- TR = 935.2, 727.6 B = 1129.4, 937.7
  15. That pavilion will never look the same to me again.... thank goodness they are not going to raise the river by another 4ft. They did decide against that at the 3pm meeting today, didn't they ? I heard from the Jock 98.7 Fishin' Radio Show program that were possibly going to turn it loose tonight and raise the CFS to 90,000. But I think they changed their minds as the lake has crested. Brian
  16. Boy you gotta feel sorry for all the people and all the homes that are being affected. Its almost unfathomable. ~ sigh ~
  17. Like another 15 feet or so I believe... WAIT, here you go : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Table_Rock_Lake Make sure you click the back button and not close out your browser or you will click out. ( Right now, there is enough water flowing thru TRD each second to fill an Olympic sized swimming pool )
  18. Thank goodness it was not the dreaded 1000 years flood.. the one where they would open the auxiliary spillway. It is good to know things will start getting back to normal around here.. in about 3-4 months. :-) We are all glad to know that the worst is over now. Brian
  19. Everyone should just watch the news or check the KY3 website or something before freaking out. With every situation like this there are always some 'doomsday theorists'. Brian
  20. As for opening the auxillary spillway gates : IT WILL NOT EVER HAPPEN. Not unless Beaver dam broke and we needed to hold that water in an instant. It was 75 million dollars to use or lose.. so they used it. But they will never USE it. Brian
  21. OH ME OH MY... That is outrageous.... the boat ramp.. it is probably 10 feet deep where the turn around is. Thanks for the pics Leonard.. I made it about 3/4 of the way to the Dam.. but not all the way. I guess I couldn't bare to see it flooded like that.... again. Nah.. I stopped at River Run and just lost time until I had to buy something and scoot. Brian
  22. Is it possible that anyone can get some pictures of this occurrence ? I wonder if the 2 are just about the same height right about now. Brian
  23. I just heard they are going to shut down the Kimberling City bridge. It is within a foot of coming up and onto the bridge.
  24. Those are some astonishing pics TrophyFishR. The before and then after a little while later is incredible. I hope everyone in your area made it to higher ground.
  25. I wondered if someone was going to try to stop it. There were a lot of Rooster Tails and Kastmasters in that little shop. Man oh man... I would imagine it gets stopped before it goes over Powersite. Brian
