  1. Thanks for the info. I called about this rod. They don't have it. I think I called them 3 or 4 years ago on this same website and they didn't have it then. At the $269.00 figure I thought it would have been a great buy, as if I remember they were $329.00 when they came out. Way to dig however. the 6'8" on ebay is not the correct rod either.
  2. They have the most extreme Tipflex of any rod I have ever used. Not only with this flex propel a bait out of sight, but it is extremely sensitive when used as a drop shot rod. The midsection is full but when fished correctly with a high rod attitude it keeps pressure off the fishing line and keeps the pressure on the fish thru the middle of the blank. The butt or lower section is more than strong enough to lift fish either with your hands on the full cork handle or slide them infront of the reel to swing a fish. I pair this with a Shimano Stradic 2500 or a Shimano Sustain and it can more than handle anything that Table Rock has to offer and propel a bait so far you can see the spool when using either 6 or 8 pound line filled to the max on the reel. Other than that, its not much of a rod. Good Luck
  3. Hope you have a short memory. If we get anything near that size, I'll do hand springs from Bow to Stern. Look forward to seeing you and your mom on June 8th. Just great fish. The smile tell it all. BB
  4. This is the 3rd. time I have had my VAULT SYSTEM HUBS STOLEN.
  5. Well, this is my second go around this year with someone stealing my hubs off my trailer at Cooper Creek. Hope they needed them more than I did. Happened yesterday during my full day taneycomo trip.
  6. I've got a 1/2 dozen of them you can have. Way, way to wide of a tail wobble. I've have thrown them till I have gone nuts on the Rock and just have not had the success I need. Yes, I have caught some fish on them, but like Dave said they are pretty far down the evolutionary ladder. Good Luck
  7. J. sorry I missed your post. Good info by Sam however. I'm been covered up. Wrench. Yes I've spoken to the Biologist on this and as many as 50 percent of the whites in a given year will not spawn. It is very normal. They have to have just the perfect condition and then still lots don't do it. Not a problem according to the guys in the know. Yes Buster caught them on a spoon yesterday. More throwing than jerking, but both for sure. EARLY. Lots of people don't know the meaning of the word. Early is not 7 AM. Now its 5 AM. I believe he had between 30 and 40 but don't quote me on that. Said it was a huge day. In two days his clients had 120 bass including the whites from TR lake. Now that's catching them. Fin, Tube, Spoon. Good Luck I'm Gone
  8. If you don't find it, here is a pretty good tip. Either call or email Shimano and explain what happened. Tell them of your buying history and the reels you need replaced. I will bet you a quarter they will send you a VIP CARD for the purchase of some new equipment. It is a 50% off card and can be used thru Shimano direct. I know of no other company that does this. Shimano does and has many times in the past. Truly a reason to purchase their fine equipment. It is worth a try. They have done it for me and several other area fisherman. They completely replaced a set of fire damaged equipment for a friend. Good LUck
  9. Cenderi The absolute best rod of any type I have ever used. Came in Med. and Med HVY and HVY. I hold my breath every time I pull them from the box. But they are there to use and when they are gone I'll have more than fond memories. Saw them on the internet in Florida listed for $329.00 but all they had was the Heavy. This was a couple of years ago. have not looked since. They are now 5 yrs. out of date. I'll tell you another one that they had that was fantastic was the Expert. Again the 7 ft. Med spinning is a fantastic Head rod and will do just about anything. Was to pricy at over 3 bills and they discontinued it also. Might find these somewhere. Good Luck
  10. Thank you so much for your post. It was heartfelt and very enjoyable to read. Nothing is better than fishing time with the family. Glad those rascules played nice for you. Good Luck
  11. Don't have to tell you the fridge is always open and I know I don't have to tell Denny the Bar is also. Just Sayin.
  12. You simply cannot do better than the Falcon Cara and Reaction series of rods. Along with the head turner, you may also want to view the Reaction Swim Jig Rod. It is a bit longer and I believe it handles that size bait. The Cara Amasted is also a great rod for what you are looking for. You are more than welcome to come to my house and put your hands on any of the fine bass fishing casting rods that Falcon makes. I usually have most models on hand for anyone to see. Tackle Warehouse would have been the deal up to yesterday with the big discount, but they are worth the full price everyday. Most of mine are equipped with Lews Tournament Pro's, or Diawa Steez so you will for sure have your hands on a good one.
  13. Yes, you are right. I really can't figure out why now all of a sudden they are swallowing it. I will tell you I have made some adjustments to the bait and they may be partly to blame. I have taken off the big old dull hooks and of course put on smaller Death Traps, and that may in fact be the key to them being able to take it so far back. I'm going to try putting a bigger set of hooks on it. Up to size 4 and see what that does. The original hooks are size 4 somethings and I went to the size 6. It is very streamline with the smaller hooks and I didn't have to use a split ring to hang them. I bet the bigger hooks on split rings may keep them on the outside of the mouth. Sometimes you just need to take a step back and rethink it. I'll let you know how this works.
  14. Usually Crappie guys like White's also and that is more than a possibility. Look for them chasing shad in the flat coves from the dam to Long Creek. EARLY. Good Luck
  15. Nice Fish JBird. Love your reports.
  16. From fishing them the past two years on a pretty steady basis, you do not want a higher ride. It causes much more misses. ON a brighter note, maybe if they miss it they won't swallow it to there A$$$$$. Push comes to shove, and the fin is keeping me fishing longer with much less stress and pain. It is however nice to visit a friend from the past.
  17. RPS I have seen the Hula Popper in that configuration, but have not see the bug in it. My problem of late has been that any hook on it would be a problem. It has just been swallowed with all you see is the line coming out of the gut. Just flat GONE. I don't think in the hayday of the Bug that we worried about it as most anything it snagged was coming home for dinner. These days its a different deal. On another note. Yes the broken back came in wood. I have one in a Lepoard Frog Pattern.
  18. Next couple of days at TW. IF you need it they got it. If they don't have it you don't need it. Good Luck
  19. Jason, with the ammounts of boats this past weekend there has been nothing at all in the evenings. Where I have been catching them looks like the St. Louis Boat Show from 10 AM to past dark. Ya got 3 hrs. in the mornings, make wise use of them. Yes Dave that is a 3/8th. We had some on it yesterday. You can see them coming for it with their dorsal fins out of the water running at it like a shark. It is not my clients fault that they are swallowing it as I bet a lot of you are thinking. It is just a complete violent strike and the speed of the reaction of the fisherman does not seem to matter. They hit it, and it is GONE!! Don't have the same problem with a popper, however they are not eating it nearly as well. The fin is the best bet, but had two yesterday that took it tail first and had it way back in the craw. Most all the whites we are catching are BIG Females that did not spawn. When you try and release them shad and nasty eggs spew all over creation. Fun but for sure messy. Had to take the boat to the car wash 3 days in a row. Good Luck
  20. Pretty much zero on the crappie. Might try flipping a jig around some of the bigger commercial docks, but really not worth your time in the dam area. Longcreek is about 5 miles from the dam and you may have a possibility on some bluff trees, but again, Table Rock in June is not the time for those tasty rascules in the dam area. Good Luck
  21. The Whites are really biting in the Dam to point 5 area early in the morning. Not traditional places, but mostly in the backs of the more flatter pockets. They are running the shad clear up on the bank. We had close to 40 whites and about 1/2 that many bass this morning all on topwater. I have been catching them like this since Wednesday. Buster and most of the other Dam area guides are doing likewise. Well some bad news on the small Jitterbug. I have had to completely retire it. Even the white bass are swallowing it down and gone. This lure is just a monster for those big White bass. If your keeping them its still a problem as it is just impossible to dig out of them. Whites have wanted the wake bait over the poppers by far. I always keep them handy, but for now, I'm on the walkers. You can see to fish and the fish are chasing by 5:30. Bite is lasting till around 8:30. You can keep it going if there is a breeze and some clouds. Good Luck all you White Bass Fans.
  22. I've created a Monster. "Go Figure."
  23. YES I was expecting it to be $300. Giggle if you want, but I bet a bunch of you would have thought the same thing
  24. I gave the same question to two of my buddies and they both said 300. I gave it to Lisa at Lilleys' and she knew it was $420 in about 15 seconds. Man life is hard I'm like Jethro, I cannot get my gusindas right.
