  1. Those are some very nice linesides you go there. I might head down that way tomorrow afternoon, but will probably look for black bass, but if a striper gets in the way, I won't complain.
  2. Very nice!
  3. Welcome! Great to see another Beaver lake fisherman on here.
  4. Based on the weather forecast, it's going to be very "Polar" in the AM Saturday. Hopefully someone can post the results, it will be interesting to see what the winners bag weight is.
  5. I've heard good things about the JM Gold on other bass forums, never tried one myself. I do have a Curado, it's a not a bad reel, but I prefer my Revo Premiers.

Nope, I am not a walleye fisherman, I catch some accidently while bass fishing. That link Wildeye provided does have some good info. I might try it myself one of these days if I can just put down the bass stuff. Mouth of War Eagle sounds like a great place to start for the walleyes.
  7. A timely article, we may have reached peak gasoline consumprion here in the US in 2008 according to this article and may be on a downward trend. Only problem, as far as global warming is concerned, is that other nations will continue to increase their gasoline consumption offsetting our decrease. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/40755238/ns/business-stocks_and_economy/

Nice Walleye! I fish the Lost Bridge area quite a bit myself, it can be a tough area to fish.
  9. Now we've got a bunch of movie critics I liked that scene where the pirates (or whatever they were) were attacking that floating town thing and they guy was shooting it up with the quad 50's, and Costner, using his catamran, turns it so he shoots up Hopper's command vessel. And when Hopper decides he wants to move that oil tanker, his troops all grab oars and start rowing - that was classic.
  10. I 2nd the reocmmendation for Tim Hughes.
  11. Ahh yes, the River Runt, that was my go to bait back around 1970 (I was 13 then) when we lived in Michigan and had some bass ponds within walking distance of my house. I might still have one in my old tackle box, I'll have to dig it out and check. I think I have a Lucky 13 or two that belonged to my grandpa. My grandpa and dad used to make a road trip every year to Table Rock back in the early 60's. The way they talked about it, it sounded like it was as close to a fishing paradise as any you could find on this earth. Lots of crappie and big, stupid bass.
  12. Yes, thanks for the info, and good luck in the tourney!
  13. I threw a black hair jig and eel around one of the lakes here in Bella Vista, did not get a bite. I was a little disappointed, I dragged it through some brush piles and for sure thought I would get a bite. Switched to a suspending jerk bait and picked a couple of fish up. Only fished about three hours, too darn cold and windy.
  14. Seems we are in a dry spell. my guess is it stays low.
  15. The scary thing, the point that Al brings up, is if we reach a tipping point where warming climate becomes irreversible (at least in our lifetimes). But that seems to be how we do things in this country, we wait until it's a crisis, then we scramble like rats to fix it.
  16. Congrats! That is one heckuva bass.
  17. Excellent! Thanks for sharing.
  18. Thanks for posting that article Champ, wow it was 3 years ago, how time flies!
  19. Nah, no need to skip, hopefully you and Champ will win it this year!
  20. Temple Fork Outfitters makes a good rod for $99 at Tacklewarehouse.
  21. Was it last year or 2 years ago that someone weighed in a 10 lb bass? Pretty impressive fish for The Beav.
  22. Bowe has been huge for my fantasy team.
  23. Anybody watch Wild Justice Sunday night on NGC? There were 2 episodes back to back, basically it's a "Cops" type format, camera guy riding along with a game warden. First two shows were with California F&G wardens, riding around at night looking for people shining deer, but it seemed instead of finding game violators the lights in the distance were from Maryjane growers. What surprised me was the wardens would follow up and raid the field themselves with their own tactical teams instead of calling in the regular police. Next episode is Wednesday at 9 PM on NGC.
  24. Yep the Citica, tacklewarehouse has a 20% sale that ends tonite, so you could get it for $99 with free shipping at TW. Or as Eric says, check out Ebay.
