  1. Went Sauturday night to Indian Point area and had 3 keepers on a spinner bait after dark. Fished until midnight. Caught several goggle eyes also. Slow rolling 1/2 oz. single blade spinner baits in red/black and brown/orange with a pork frog trailer. Did not try any slow baits at all. Why fish slow when you can catch bass and goggle eye on a spinner bait!! Sure was a pretty night.
  2. Good question... how do you guy store your mushrooms? I don't have near that many, but I just keep them in a plastic bag in the fridge. Is that the standard method???
  3. You didn't let Roy catch any of those fish did you??? Good to hear from you too, glad to see your still out there catching those fish. Somebody needs to be. I will... I'll call you later this week.
  4. Way to go Coach. Looks like a fun evening of fishing. I suppose Greve was with you. Talk to you later. Pat V
  5. Sorry for the delay, but fished last Saturday morning between Point 5 and Indian Point. Lots(15 - 20) of nice Kentuckys on white spinner baits. Fished from the backs of coves all the way out to the points. Wind did not seem to matter. Had several(4 or 5) smallmouths that were up on the banks. The biggest SM was 4lb. right on the bank in the back of that big cove just north of point 5. Sorry, don't know the name of it. Fished around 13 Bridge that afternoon. More KY's on banks that were hammered with wind. Same white spinnerbait. Partner was throwing Chart./White with same results. Great weather and great fishing.
  6. Thanks everybody. I had a great b-day... got to go fishing for 3 days(Thurs., Fri., Sat.). My present was two 4lb. fish. The one pictured here and a smallmouth that I did not get a picture of. Sorry
  7. sounds like a good trip... all you need now is an afternoon nap with a full belly of crappie how was the wind?
  8. sold...thanks
  9. you might try Quail Cove Resort. 417-858-2049 used to stay there in the spring and fall... it is located between Shell Knob and Campbell Point. Nice ramp/dock and good people.
  10. I have a 1991 Harley Davidson FLSTC (Heritage Classic). I am 3rd owner and bought it from a friend. The bike has 17,000 miles and looks new. Asking $10,500 if anyone is interested. I don't have time to ride... I am trying to catch a crappie. Wish me luck.
  11. I think I can relate to #12 the best... regarding #14... I thought the shin bone was for finding the hitch on the back of my truck everytime I walk behind it? pat
  12. Another victim of "The Rock"... polock, don't let it get you down. We've all had those days Like Bill said, come again it can't be any worse. pat
  13. Great pics Mr. Ducky... wish I was there right now!
  14. I read an interesting article on news-leader.com in the life section this morning about moon phases and fishing. Just wondering if anyone else read that and what they thought? He talks about his experiences with bass... just wondering if any of you use lunar tables for trout and other fish? pat
  15. don't you hate fat fingers pushing the wrong buttons??? here is the pic
  16. Here is a picture of my 97 BassCat Pantera Classic with a 200 H.P. Mariner. If you see me boating around Long Creek and I look lost... I probably am. Just looking for crappie. I hope I can learn how to catch one this year. If anyone wants to go and show me how, they are more than welcome. pat
  17. No worries... I'll put it in the vault!
  18. When the water warms up lets go! I'll take you there and you can catch the fish and I'll take the pictures. I think I am better with the camera than my flyrod. pat
  19. That is downstream from Braden Rd. out by Brunner. I used to fish it years ago and do pretty well(later in the year). I knew it was early for catching, but I only live about 5 minutes from there and I knew I could practice my casting with no interuptions. Makes for a peaceful few hours by yourself this time of year... not too mention it sure is pretty. The only thing I heard while out there was the sound of the ice falling from the bluff(and my line snapping on the water during my backcast) I guess it will take some time for my casting abilities to come back. I hope that happens before the fish start biting! pat
  20. Here are a couple of pics from yesterday on the Upper Finley. Did not catch any fish, but it sure was a good day to try my new boots that Michael sold me. Also a nice quiet day to relearn how to cast a fly rod. It's only been about 10 years. Lots of rust gathers in that amount of time pat
  21. It's back... I like the new skin. pat
  22. Phil... I am stuck in blue also. Can you help? pat
  23. Michael... I have never been to one of your seminars, is there anything I need to bring besides something to haul that rod home in??? I am really looking forward to it... I have a trip planned in June to Maine to flyfish for smallmouth amd salmon. I have not used a flyrod for about 10 years or so and need all the advise I can get between now and then. See you there and I hope to meet some of the jokers from this site. I get several good laughs a day from here. pat
  24. Russ, my dad had a 2-wheel drive Suburban that he put 10-ply Michelin LTX-AT's on and put a little over 100,000 miles on them. I just traded a 2003 1500HD GMC Crew Cab 4X4 that had the LTX-AT 10-ply tires with 65,000 miles on them and still had lots left. I pulled a bass boat and a 30' 5th-wheel travel trailer with that truck. Without a doubt the Michelins are the way to go... for me at least.
  25. Great article... Thanks Champ for the info. I am sure everyone is tired of this topic, but the information sure helps us newbies.
