    Report

Fished from Birds Nest down about 2-3 miles. Caught lots of fish, with two over 15 inches (SM). The bigger fish came on small plastics (chomper), the majority were on bandit cranks and pop R's. Left once the crowds came through. Nice river for my first time fishing it! PS Scenery nice too! Later,
  7. It seemed despite the 90+ plus temps, the crappie were biting fairly well, although I wasn't fishing for them. They did seem to like the DD14 slowly pulled over brush, a couple locals had 25 or so out of the same stretch of bank fishing jigs and minnows. The brush was in 12-15ft of water, main lake flats.

    Meramec

Fished the Meramec out of Graysons camp down to about 3 miles. Fishing decent, food excellent in town. Try the Feed Store, use to be an actual feed store, excellent burgers, waffel fries and get the texas toothpicks!! I believe it's across from Casey's?? I could be wrong on this, it is on the main drag.
  9. Dano, Right on, it's the fourth meal!!

    BBQ

Ate at Chuckwagon BBQ two weeks ago off of HWY 7 outside of Warsaw (across from Pro's Choice). Excellent food, help and prices. Try their homemade chocolate pie, can't go wrong after eating a half rack of ribs, beans and fries!!! Mmmmm.
  12. Ever ate at the Depot there outside of Harrison? Breakfast is (was) good!!
  13. I was just explaining to someone the other day about a BBQ joint I visted and thought it would be good if we had a place to visit about where to go for a good meal.

    Crappie

I hear they are ripping the crappie!!! 100+ a day trips, is this fo' real?
  15. Is there a forum on place to eat? What's good and what' not good? It seems to me fisherman can usually find the best places to eat a meal than any other traveler.
  16. I am sure you are back by now? The water seems to be up, somewhat stained and running pretty good. The smallmouth are biting early and late. Try small cranks, or plastics imitating crawfish. The faster deeper water was productive over the fourth. Sorry for the delay.

    Hey Brian

Sorry for the delay. Actually walked up from 95 on the fourth of July. Did manage some nice smallies and goggle eyes. The water was fast and current strong. It made for a nice day on the river. Largest fish came on a small bomber crankbait in crawfish pattern.
  18. Fishing has to be good, water generation has not stopped and doesn't appear to with Truman on the rise. Most fish were caught this weekend point related, i.e. bluff ends with ledges. Crankbait still catching them in the day time, but a jig or worm will work. The shaky head bite accounted for nice catches on the flatter points with rocks.
  19. Did this post start off as a fishing report? I would like to hear more about crawler fishing, tips and tatics, not keeping bass.

    Hey Brian

Got a gauge on the water flow? Say from Bertha to 95HWY. Might do the float or walk up from 95HWY.
  21. It came with my boat when I bought it. I believe it's more for navigation than fishing. Contents: A couple different CDs, Connector for the computer, mapping chip, etc.... I thought about looking on EBay.
  22. No, it's a coke!
  23. YEP! I read a post yesterday somewhere else they were talking about fishing local accesses. This individual decided not to put in a low water access because the landowner had posted no-tresspassing signs on both sides of the river.
  24. That is awsome, the best bite from what they told me was topwater. I hope to make the trip next year, it's only like 800 miles?? That ain't bad.
  25. And those magic trees full of 4 lbs KYs........
