  1. Oops, your right, back to zebra mussles, suppose to improve smallmouth populations?
  2. Wrench, Where else are you going to catch monster crappie on a stickbait, consistently!! Can you say "Pointer" Later,
  3. QB, Mine too, my favorite way to eat them is a deep fried Walleye sandwhich, with cheese and Mayo. That's just me!!! Later,
  4. MoCarp, Both have a special place in heart too, I call them beauty and the beast! tight lines.
  5. TL, Let me start off by saying I no walleye expert and don't claim to be, but these fish (e) between 22"-24" give or take. Like I said, to me they were large walleye, to the connoisseur they probably aren't that big. They were awful skinny fish. But sure were pretty!! Slamed a stick bait.
  6. I am embarrased to report, but only two very large walleye decided to bite in two days while searching for bass out of Pontiac. A stickbait no doubt. Both days were not real condusive as fog stayed until noon one day and the wind blew 20-30 out of the North the next. Geez. But, could of spent my time working, will take tough fishing anyday
  7. Fishinwrench, You the same "Fishinwrench" that posts on another board about LOTO, I am just a reader over there on that board. I agree with you on this one, LOTO is a fine fishery, the best in the midwest as far as I can see, not only for LM, but crappie and other species as well. There is alot to put up with fishing that lake, but once you get that taken care of it's very easy to enjoy yourself there!! Later.
  8. Champ, Cotton Candy thats the one. For me in the winter that color gives me confidence. That is what it is all about, let's change the word "color" to "confidence"
  9. SKMO, I am trying to think of the color I love to throw on sunny winter days for using the grub. It's a completely clear body with "colored" glitter inside.
  10. BB, I guess my humor was mis-understood. I wasn't looking for the gory detail or exact locations not everyone is looking for a cheap ride, see the wink-wink portion of the post. I realize he works very hard to pinpoint fish as well as yourself. I have close friends on the lake too who fish professionally and guide, so I know exactly what your talking about. SKMO, NO offense and thanks for the reports, they give me enjoyment while stuck behind the desk. Actually, I am envious you get to post so much, because that means you are fishing all time. Take care.
  11. SKMO, Nice group picture, although couldn't enhance the photo wnough of the one your holding to figure out what ho-hum point that was..... What color grub was that?
  12. My boss bought both books after I told him about them. Very good reading.
  13. dwiebenga, Melting of the snow is a good thing, but what damage is done is done. WP is insisting that boaters stay of lake until further instructed for fear of wakes might cause further damage. Also, floating debris is present and cause serious damage to vessels.
  14. SKMO, Thanks for the insight. My hookset isn't pretty on the metal lead either, I am usually glad one will hit the darn thing for me. This weekend looks to be a nice one, if you get out good luck!!!!
  15. SKMO, I was reading Aaron Martin's trick is to use flourocarbon line, and begins to reel before the hook set. Makes sense. I had some good success shaking a spoon, not lifting or sweeping when fish are not cooperating or wind isn't present. How about the ice jig?
  16. SKMO great report as usual. Will they hits grubs too? Also, just curious about your techinque with the spoon? Shaking, popping, etc... thanks,
  17. Champ, Several personal docks involved as well. I buddy of mine that lives around the darn reported one dock having so much weight that it was like a see-saw in the water and was about to tip over.
  18. Prior to the 15" of snow on top of 3" of ice that blanked the area, the crappie were biting very well. Several reports of catching good fish on stickbaits. Now that is fun when you can run your brush piles and catch quality crappie on your favorite smithwick.
  19. I agree probably needed leg room.
  20. Check out the link over at the lake of the ozarks forum. I bet millions in damages.
  21. See link. This is unbelievable. http://dealerimpact.com/ozarks/

    Tues PM Trip

Now that's Rambo style. Great picture of a slab crappie. I have caught some deep crappie, but that takes the cake.
  23. I bet we got 1-2" of rain, followed by an 1" inch of ice up here in central Mo. Still raining/sleeting/icing here. Is the rock low?
  24. Anyone located near winter trout stocking (park lakes) programs. Got any tips for fisherman using a spin cast outfit? Much appreciated.
  25. How about crushed pringles vs. the mashed potatoes. I have seen that in a recipe.
