Tossed swimmin minnows and crankbaits today and ended up with 9 small hybrids up to 2.5lbs, four blacks, a slab 14.5" crappie, and snagged a 20# asian carp. Hybrids were in one small stretch of water and I'm sure we could have caught more if we stayed there. We were just out having fun so we decided to go for a ride down to the Missouri and see what else we could find. Only fish I caught down towards the Missouri was that carp. Snagged him in the side on a crankbait. It was fun landing him on bass tackle.
Did see one boat with a barely legal spoonbill and a couple tails at the boat ramp. If the water flow stays at the current level and the water warms up another 5 degrees or so I would imagine the spoonbill would start running to the lock and stacking up. Seems everytime the conditions are right and they start catching them, I don't get there in time before they crank up generation and they make it over the lock.
