Heading Down On Thurs.

How clear is the water with the current running? -
I shoot the first deer I get the chance at with my bow to keep my archery kill streak alive and also to get meat in the freezer since we are usually always out by Sept. 15. After I take my first doe, then I'll hunt horns up until gun season. After gun season starts I just shoot whatever comes close enough to fill the freezer.

Exactly! I plan on renting for a while until I have that 20% saved up for a home. It might take me a while, but I'm sure I won't have any trouble getting a loan with 20% down either and also since my credit is very good too.

Congrats on the nice blue. I wish I lived a bit closer to Bagnell because it sounds like fishing is really awesome up there right now. -
Not lately...been shooting deer and turkeys though.

Hello socialist America! I'm not up to my neck in debt so how would it affect me aside from being tougher to get a loan? The people it effects are the ones who have everything they own wrapped up in "credit" instead of actually paying cash for something. All I can tell now is that I get to pay money for other peoples screw ups just so I can go out and get financed for a loan that's way more than I can afford to begin with? Go back to the way it was in the 80's like another guy said. I was just a little feller during that time so I didn't experience it for myself, but if people made it by fine during that time, then they should be just as good today and there would be a lot less foreclosures and other BS that got the country in to this mess.

I know it sucks, but I've read too much saying that the problem just come right back again....except that we will be 700 billion more in debt on top of that. It's just going to get A LOT worse before it gets better. 401k's, stocks, and every other investment is basically a risk and not a guarantee. I feel sorry for the ones who are really getting punished by all of this, but there was always the chance something like this could happen. Luckily I'm young enough to have time on my hand during this bad time. If the market tanks though, the people who were smart and held back cold hard cash are going to come out ahead in the end because there are going to be some awesome deals to be had.....and this is exactly what I plan on doing during the whole debacle. I still think that throwing money at the problem isn't going to fix anything unless they make it A LOT tougher for people with bad credit to get loans. People can't take the responsibility on their own to borrow what they can pay back so somebody needs to make it to where they can't do it so easily. If you want to get a loan, then save 20% down and THEN go talk to the bank. If people were forced to have 20% down upfront then most of these problems wouldn't be happening. The fact that the big companies are getting bailed out fries my rear end. If they can make all the millions building the company up, then they can lose it all by having the company tank. It's freakin ridiculous to us tax payers! I'm definitely not an economist, but this is just my personal opinion.

I must have seen a different debate. Everything I watched Palin speak I kept waiting for her to address the questions she was asked, but she just seemed to start rambling and then go off in to lala land. This is the first time I have heard about Biden and he seemed to skip the rambling and go straight to the punch line for all of his answers. Palin just left me scratching my head after she finished her answers. Another thing that scares me is that it doesn't sound like McCain has anything any different from what Bush has already proposed....and look at where we are now with national debt higher than ever and everything going to heck with the country. If Obama wins the election, which I think he will, then I pray that he doesn't turn this country into an even bigger mess. I really can't say I would trust McCain or Obama to run the country the right way. It's scary!!!

Check in to Mission, Bear, and Diamond. You should be able to find a bow within those three manufacturers that meets your price and feels good to you. One of my friends bought a Bear Element fully setup for $400 and some change last year at Bass Pro. It's a nice bow for the price.

I watched a doe and fawn feed about 300 yards away in a cut powerline from 7 until dark. As soon as I left and headed home, the deer were bouncing around like rats and I about cremed three of them. The hunting will pick up for me once the full moon starts going away. It was an awesome night to be out there enjoying nature that's for sure. I don't think you could have asked for better opening day weather.

A mess of deep fried suckers is hard to be in my book, especially the smaller hog sucker and white suckers. Carp and buffalo are good too, but they have some bigger bones that you have to be careful when eating. The spoonbill that we catch from the James River arm of Tablerock in the Spring don't seem to have nearly as good of taste as the smaller ones we get from the lower Osage below Bagnell Dam. I'm not sure if it's due to the fish being bigger, the water, or what but there's definitely a difference in taste when you cook them side by side. Maybe it's just us though becausae we fried up a bunch of Tablerock paddlefish for a church get to gether and they ate them faster than we could bring them out. Everybody was eating the paddlefish over the crappie, which was fine by me because I would eat crappie over those james River paddlefish any day of the week.

The dang ticks are horrible this year, especially seed ticks. That won't stop me from going out tomorrow evening after work. I sprayed my clotehs down with some Permanone and I'll wear my knee high rubber boots so that will help deter them off pretty good. First thing that doesn't have spots and is legal to shoot is getting whacked. The freezer is running thin on steaks and tenderloins.

Hopefully this high water will make some of those nice browns start coming up a bit early. I'll be down there in a few weeks for a buddy's family reunion and I'll probably throw the fishin rod in for good measure.

I prefer to use those foot long cigar floats they carry up at Walmart. Just wait for it to go all the way under and set the hook. That's how I seen Shawncat catch the lunkers down there by the bathroom hole one day.

I know the feeling. Dad and I worked on the gigging lights for my boat this weekend and got them all ready to go in anticipation, but now everything is flash flooding and looking like chocolate milk. All well.....I can focus on trying to stick me a deer with the Mathews for a while now.

Acorns around here are hit or miss. Some tree's are bare while the one right next to it might be falling over with acorns. My oak flats that I like to hunt on don't have very many, which stinks. The deer have plenty of wheat, clover, turnips, etc to eat around here and the squirrels should have enough hickory nuts to last them till next year they are so thick around here.

I spray my clothes down with Permanone and let soak for a few days to take care of the ticks and chiggers. A Thermacell is your best friend for fending off the mosquitoes. It takes about 15 minutes after you to turn it on before it works, but you can sit out there naked and not get a mosquito bite after it kicks in. Both of these are available at the local Walmart too.

Electile Dysfunction.....that's funny right there. I've got a bad case of it this year.

As far as I can tell.....this country is screwed no matter who get's elected. Obama thinks gas should cost more than it already does and McCain is so rich that he thinks middle class people make 3 million a year. In my eyes, the economy is a lot more important than pro choice, smoking pot in high school, and so on..... I have no idea who I am going to vote for this year. The more I think about it and listen to all of the BS.....the less I think that my vote will even make a difference.

Tons of fish were in the stream. I only seen a few that were 15"+ though and the majority would be around 10-12. The girlfriend and I got down there around noon and fished the bluff side of the Lacy hole till about 2:30. The fish bit really well. She caught all of her fish on trout worms in orange and green. They preferred the green better she said. I had my best luck on 007 bait, green and white rubber legged jigs, and a beadhead pheasant tail. The fish are chasing each other an awful lot now. I'm guessing it's the spawning urges starting to kick in for the fall.

Dang...I am not much on loans but that sounded .....difficult..lol. Anyhow, my credit rating should be doing well. I've had a vehicle loan for almost 3.5 years now and made every payment on time and actually am several months ahead of my pay schedule because I pay extra each month. My boat is paid of now too and I paid that loan off early earlier this year. My credit cards get paid in full each month and I have had two of them for about three years also. The only loan I have outstanding right now is the 3765 that I owe on my current vehicle, a 2005 Ford Ranger. I just checked my debt to income ratio and I am sitting at 20% right now, which according to the site is very good.

I'm looking at picking up an older 4x4 ext truck that will run me no more than $5000. Auto loans only go down to a minimum of $7500 that I can tell so I guess I need to look into a personal loan. I'm curious as to what kind of rates and how long I could finance a $5000 personal loan. Calling the bank and asking would probably be easiest, but I figured I'd just throw this on here and see if you guys have any knowledge on this that you can fill me in on. I have a boat that's worth about $4000 I'd guess that I could use as collateral if that makes any differences in the loan or not.
