Suffix - 8 to 17 lb depending on setup. Have some deep cranking 10 and 12 lb on some rods. 14 or 17 Elite on jigs and spinner bait rods. Tried some P-line and keep getting break offs at the knot and some breaks in the spool. Out it went. I may try some Trilene XL next because I bought a used 6-6 G-Lomis with a CU-100 Shimano Curado on it that is supper smooth - think it is Trilene. It is outcasting some of my 7' rods but I mostly flip or pitch with them. Got the setup for $75 at a moving sale - what a deal.

3 of us were down last week and caught a fair # of smaller bass but nothing over 3. Our most consistent pattern was off the wind blow corners of docks. Also had a few on chompers on wind blown jetty. WE were fishing from 42 to 55MM

Just came back from 2 1/2 days fishing at LOZ. OUr best boites came off the wind blow corners of docks on spinner baits, buzz baits, curly tail grub on a 1/4 oz road runner head. Also got on the Chomper bite where wind was blowing inot a pocket near the main lake. Biggest fish came on a sq. billed KVD crankbait but overall not much of a CB bite. Most of the fish were smaller - don't knwo where the big ones are. Blue bird skies the whole time - glad we had wind.

Headed down Weds - will be fishing somehwere between the 42 and 60mm. I've had luck with black and blue chatterbait lately as well as a 1/4oz road runner head with smoke color swim grub trailer - all off the docks - mostly shallow water. John - I assume you mean main lake flats and docks. I also hav ebeen hitting the shallow water docks on the opposite side of the channel back in the cove.

I think the winning weight for the midlake bass club was 18.66

Talked to a guy lsat weekend while I was on my dock - said he was catching them on buzz baits off docks. I caught two good ones on 1/4 oz Road Runner with smoked color swim trailer

Bite picked up a little more yesterday - surface water temp was actually below 80 for awhile. Went about about 11am for an hour and a half - caught 9 with 3 keepers on black and blue chatterbait around the docks - 6 to 10 feet.

Two casts - two keepers this am in 6 feet of water in back of a cove. Blue fleck - 10 inch worm. Hope this is a sign.

I've caught one white and one hybrid this year - by accident. Did have some whites boil up the surface right around me last week for about 45 secs but that is rare. That was aorund the 50mm.

I fished that a little right around the marina. I always gas up there and they do my maintenance. The point beside the Pizza place sometimes holds fish. Caught some good fish on the south side of the jetty that sticks out where the new house is (in the Spring).I'm at the 53.5 on the Laurie side in the cove where the big house is on the point (not mine).

Which cove are you on?

I just got back from a week down there - our house is at the 53.5 mm and I fished from the 44 to the 60 and tried everythign I could think of - all our fishing was in the am - only caught dinks - I'd try fishing in the evening or the night. Water temp is a balmy 90. Good luck -post your results.

Is anyone catching any bass at LKOZ? My wife's brother's son wants to fish a lot next week. I have been poking around and trying different baits but haven't really been able to get on any consistently.
