Then moved to Turnback creek, Fished about one mile above the 160 bridge, The water was about 64 degrees, staind, lots of current. caught 10 nice whites and 2 crappie. Very winday, but a nice day!! 3. I had 2 friends that caught white bass up Turnback, about a mile above the 160 bridge. Most were caught in the afternoon. Water temp was about 58 to 60 degrees.

  5. I think you are going to be about 6 days to early, But if you find some stained water about 55 degrees, fish about 4 to six feet deep, near the bank using a small soft plastic stick bait or swimin minnow. Works for me!!
  6. I have a idea, If everyone would post lake conditions of the aera that they fish each day, It would be very helpful to all of the other fisherman on this forum. The pros do a great job of letting us know conditions, But I think we could add our own lake conditions. You don't have to tell all your tricks, or how many fish were caught, Just the lake conditions. Thanks, David!!! This is a good site to find lake levels and temps.and discharge-------> http://www.nwk.usace.army.mil/st/daily.cfm
  7. One of the best in this area is Marine repair center in Springfield, Ask for George!!! Just do a google search for the number.
  8. Thanks for your detailed report, Your reports help use not to make a worthless and costly trip to the lake! P.S. On Friday, We were catching a few whites and blacks in about 6 feet of water, but no crappie near the bank. Thanks again David

( in about 19 feet of water ).If you are going to fish Stockton Lake this time of the year, you are going to need a depth finder or locator to do any good.

  18. I put in at old state park today Sunday ( ice around dock ) I motored to Mutton Creek's south ramp. We saw 18 to 20 EAGLES!!!You can put in at Mutton Creek and motor north toward the dam with just a little ice trouble. Fishing is still a little tough because of the patches of ice. I had to fish where I could, not where I wanted to!!! David H.
  19. I was at Stockton today ( Sunday Jan. 17 ). We were able to put in at Old State Park ramp, With a lot of ice breaking. We motored all the way to Mutton Creek, But was blocked by 4 inch ice about 4 hundred yards from Y bridge. We cleared an ice path from the mouth of Mutton Creek to the boat launch at Mutton's south ramp. Spent most of our day breaking ice, But were able to catch one nice 11 inch crappie, about 40 feet deep. P.S. We saw about 18 to 20 EAGLES!!! David H.
