  1. Welcome Megan! A little sanity in an insane crew!!!!!!
  2. Just out of curiosity, what do you wear in your waders to stay toasty?
  3. Tim, How was Crane?
  4. Getting a light dusting of snow this morning here in Branson. Not expecting any to build up or stay. Good luck.
  5. So I'm guessing March 9th would be better?
  6. Apollo 13--When your not really paying attention and you feel a slight nibble and think "20 pounder" and set the hook so hard that the 3 inch bluegill is launched all the way to the extent of your backcast.
  7. How's Roaring River Resort for a weekend getaway? Looking to go Feb 13th or 20th depending on the weather.
  8. Try this: http://www.m4gw.com:2005/m4gw/
  9. Thank you all for the great advice.
  10. Found this on another fly fishing forum and thought y'all might get a kick out of it. The part with the crawdad at about 2:52 is interesting.
  11. I'm planning a trip over to Crane in Feb. And also gonna try and hit a couple more of the small Blue Ribbons. I've got Hare's Ears and Pheasant Tails in the fly box, what else should be in there? What sizes? I was thinking a few Zebra Midges and maybe a few Copper Johns, too. Any ideas? Thanks Karma
  12. Whippersnapper---Someone who picked up a flyrod for the first time 20 minuets ago and are now giving you good reason to move 100 yards away.
  13. Thanks everyone for the replies. Wayne, I really like the looks of that Buffalo 10'. Gonna contact them for pricing. I've decided that I want to stay away from the kayaks. because of the cargo aspect and because I'm prone to tipping!!!! Thanks again Lee
  14. I'm thinking of getting a canoe just to float fish these Ozarks streams and creeks. This will be solo and must be comfortable. And I am talking flyfishing also. Thanks Karma
  15. Well, luck was not with me. I have a camera, but no lenses. According to the tracking information, I should have 3 lenses landing today, go figure. I've got some practice print film, so I'll be playing with it this weekend.
  16. Hehehe, Ronnie, I live down here. I work across the street from Stonehill Winery When the weather is nice I sometimes eat lunch down at the dam. I'm not sure I'll have a fully functioning camera then, but I might get lucky. Jan 1 sounds like it should be a nice day for a stroll. I'll let ya know over the next couple days. Karma
  17. Ya might want to be careful of that cat, he looks kinda familiar. http://s111.photobucket.com/albums/n142/ra...rent=pinkey.flv
  18. You guys are taking some great pics. Maybe we should all get together sometime at the dam and take a walking tour with the cameras? Maybe catch Phil or someone in the boats. Karma
  19. Dang Terry, that looks pretty good to this amature eye. I just may have to keep an eye open for one of those.
  20. Thanks for the support folks. Terry, I've wanted a N8008s for quite sometime and just fell into a great deal. I'm not a big fan of the digital scene, kinda makes me feel like I'm trout fishing with the grabbin rig. Anyway thanks for the website, thats gonna take me awhile to wade through all of that information. Btw, how are the Promaster lenses? Good quality? Thanks jd, I've had a couple Canon rigs and they worked very well, but I've always wanted a Nikon rig, but your right about availability. DD'sMC, we'll see how long it is before I'm brave enough to post something. But thanks for the vote of confidence.
  21. I've messed around with cameras off and on now for about 10 years. I've had a couple Canon AE-1 P's over the years. But now I'm going to take this a little more seriously. I just bought a Nikon N8008s and a couple of lenses. I love landscape and nature photography. Here's my first question: Could nikon have made it any harder to understand what lenses will fit which body?
  22. Add my wishes in here too.
  23. Welcome aboard Larry. I can think of no better reason to get away to the lake.
  24. All of the above replies are spot on. Here's the only thing I can add: Look around at your local shops and see if someone offers a tying class. Just a little better explanation of some techniques can go a long way to jump starting your tying. Shannon from River Run got me started some years ago. Almost like a Crack Dealer!!!!!!!! Lee
  25. I got a nice Pheasant skin from S Dakota off of E-Bite and it arrived yesterday. But it's not quite completely dried out yet. It's still a little juicy. What should I do to be sure this thing doesn't start smelling a bit? Should I just drop it into a bag with some Borax? Thanks Lee
