I stayed at Northstar Village in Minaki three years ago (Winnepeg River) nice place. Great Small mouth fishing, good walleye and pike. We were there before the muskie season was open, but caught two nice one's trolling. More boat traffic than I expected on a Canadian fishing trip, and I don't know if they rent boats, but it is an easy drive trailering a boat. I have also stayed at Halley's Kettle Falls Camp (English River). Cabins are more rustic than Northstar. Walleye and Pike fishing is better. Muskie and smallmouth fishing not as good as Northstar, but Halley's feels more like a Canadian trip. I believe they rent boats, we trailered there. I know several who have gone to Halley's for years and continue to go every year. If you want to target muskies, make sure you are there during the open season. My group started going to Devil's Lake in North Dakota. Crossing the border was getting to be such a hassel. Great Walleye and pike fishing, but not nearly as pretty as Canada. I would hit the Boat Sport and Travel Show, or Canada Show nearest you and talk to resort reps at the booths to narrow down your choices. Wherever you choose to go, it will be a great trip! Make sure you tell us how it went.
