  1. I just got back from Stockton last night. Was watching the local weather Tuesday May 31st and they mentioned the Greenfield area was getting pounded by heavy rain. I think they talked like four or five inches? Might still be a little sketchy in that area of the lake. Hopefully somebody will post up with conditions. WM
  2. Good luck on that one. I forgot to mention, we were on fish so the two hours was extended to two and a half hours! LOL. When you find that job hunting and fishing, I hope you are a supervisor so I can come work for you! WM
  3. That picture was worth the wait! Great fish! WM
  4. So, pulled the pics off the phone and on the computer now for more details. Caught fish on main lake points and secondary points in 15-23' of water. Was bottom bouncing slow death rigs with crawlers. Wish I could have fished all day, the walleye are on fire! WM
  5. Had a two hour window of opportunity to fish this morning before heading home. Caught twelve walleye (three shorts) two crappie a bass and a catfish. My wife out fished me big time! All fish were returned to the lake for others to enjoy. WM
  6. Way to go lmt out! I caught a limit of 16"-18" walleye today as well. My wife caught two. We fished from 9:00 -12:00 and headed out due to the weather moving in too. I found fish in 22' of water using slow death rigs. WM
  7. Nice WM

  11. Dang lmt out, your tough day is a lot of guys' successful day. You've almost reached the status of Stockton walleye whisperer! Appreciate the report, planning on being down soon. Were you jigging the raps or dragging them? I was thinking about giving them a shot myself. WM
  12. HA HA! Catch a big walleye like that and the campers will have you ran off every time! Good job! Also, the west side of the mile long bridge is where I've had some luck bank fishing for walleye. Don't know if it's accessible right now due to the construction. Caught my first Stockton walleye there casting a rogue in the spring of 1995. Have caught a few there since then as well! WM
  13. Way to put your daughter on some fish. I'll bet you had even more fun than she did! Thanks for the report! WM
  14. Tell the Mrs. nice walleye bassangler. It really accentuates her nails! WM
  15. Way to go lmt out! I ran down to Stockton and opened the camper. My season started out slow to say the least! Made short trips out fishing Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Only two keepers and a short for me. Caught a mixed bag of other fish as well. Hopefully in time I'll get them figured out. I bounced, trolled cranks and jigged Big Sac arm. The fish I caught were 14'-16'. Planning on heading back in three weeks or so. Keep up the good work! WM
  16. Wow, what an awesome and rare catch for Stockton Lake. Congratulations! I'm gonna load up on white road runners before I head down next! WM
  17. I'm sure your wife appreciates having a great guide put her on fish. My wife/main fishing partner usually out fishes me too. Happy wife=happy life! Good job lmt out! WM
  18. We had a group of six trailering two boats up there and spent about $500.00 each for five days of fishing. Gas was much more expensive last time I went up, but I'm also at least four hours closer than you all. WM
  19. Even a group search and destroy mission on Stockton would be fun. Every boat given a mission to walleye fish using a different technique. A good friend and walleye fishing guru, Powerdive pointed out to me once that often on this forum you will read about some bass fisherman catching a huge walleye casting some fluke or ned or some other goofy thing. I know I tend to do the same thing over and over, putting some keepers in the boat. there's gotta be a LOT of big walleye in Stockton. Just have to figure out how to target them! WM
  20. Yea, I remember that happening. That would seriously torque me off! how's the fishing on Mozingo?? WM
  21. I love your videos Dan! What were you trolling? WM
  22. Me too. A couple of years ago somebody stole all of the chrome valve stem caps from all of my trailer tires, even the spare. Loss was maybe three bucks, but still torqued me off. Replaced them with black plastic ones that were less attractive. The guy at the tire shop near down town Stockton gave me the plastic caps, wish I could remember the name of his shop, it was really appreciated! Just put new tires on the trailer today, and they replaced the stems and put chrome caps on them. Hopefully they won't be too attractive to thieves! WM
  23. Usually the big fish of the trip is in the 5-7 pound range. My best up there was around 7.5 caught on a blue tiger flicker shad in Howard's Bay casting weed edges. My next best was just over 7 south east side of Graham's Island casting in the trees, same crank. Put my buddy on a 7+ fish bouncing along the submerged railroad tracks in Pelican and I had a 5 pounder immediately after that 7, was a pretty nice double. You'll catch lots and lots of 12"-14" fish too. They get to be almost as much of a nuisance as the late summer small bass at Stockton. LOL! I'd loan you my lake map, but I already loaned it out last year and it hasn't returned yet! Eyeman, Erie is on my bucket list!...and the Bay of Quinte, Fort Peck, Red River for the fall/winter walleye run (been there cat fishing in the summer), Oahe, Mille Lacs, and on, and on, and on. LOL! Heck, I've yet to fish walleye on Bull Shoals! WM
  24. Devils Lake is a HUGE body of water compared to Stockton. It's been a couple of years since I've been there. The area around the lake is pretty wide open so the wind can really get the lake rocking and rolling at times, so be careful!. The latest trips I took, we fished Pelican Bay on the north west side of the lake a lot. There is a submerged railroad track on the north end of Pelican that is a great area to troll. It goes for miles and runs east and west. On the west side of Pelican is a submerged highway, believe it was Hwy 281, It's a good troll too, it runs north and south. They are both easy to find as you will see the weed lines along the shallow water, and if you have even basic maps on your graphs they should be on the maps. We caught most of our biggest fish casting the weed edges while also trolling bouncers. The rip rap on highway 19 on Pelican or on the main lake side are worth looking at too. Some guys from Omaha won a big tournament there casting Flicker Shads on the Main lake side of the Highway a few years ago. There is a huge flat north and west of the power lines on the main lake where we've trolled and caught decent fish. Howard's Bay and Haley's Hump on the main lake are worth trying (south of Graham's Island). We've caught a lot of Pike in Six Mile bay with some walleye mixed in. On windy days, Graham's Island is your friend, can usually get out of the wind there and cast cranks or slip bobber in the trees. The possibilities there are endless, you can catch fish so many different ways. you'll have to filter through many, many small walleye to get some big one's, but the girls should have a blast catching huge numbers. Try crawlers and leeches on your harnesses to see what the fish want. There is no length limit on DL, so it's nearly impossible to go hungry! You'll catch a bunch of pike too. They are good eating but you need to cut out the Y-bones. Their is all kinds of videos that show how to do that, or you can bring some filets to Stockton and I'll show you how. The meat on the Northern's in DL is a weird shade of yellow from the alkaloids in the water. They taste fine, though. Try not to let the slime on the skin touch the meat, it taste's bad. Woodland has a good ramp on the main lake, but I don't think you can get under any of the bridges from there to get to Pelican. I think the ramp for Pelican is on Highway 19, but they can set you up with that info from your lodge. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention the huge white bass up there! They are a handful! Also...for crank baits blue tiger flicker shads and hot steel rapala shad raps seemed to be the best producers for big fish. WM
  25. I've fished Devil's Lake five or six times. Awesome fishery. The walleye in my avatar is from there. When are you going and where are you staying? Heck, you'll practically drive by my house on your way up there, I should just hop in and guide you guys for free! WM
