  2. So do I unfortunatly I have to sit on the bank and enjoy my pipe to get to see"The Art of casting." Cus mine ain't so purty. WELCOME TO OAF
  3. Yes Sir mighty fine sight and forum you have created here for all of our enjoyment and for that I thank you. Change it I would not. Other forums that I have signed up for are OK, but not like this one to there detriment in one way or another some I think are to big others to small. The worst thing is a required sign up only to be disappointed by the utter lack of content. Not an issue either way for this one though. Thanks again for all that you do! JJ

    Snow Icecream

Snow Ice Cream Large mixing bowl of fresh snow (don't get the ground in your collecting efforts) 1-2 c. Milk (any type is fine, but whole milk is best) 1-2 tsp. Vanilla Extract or other flavoring 1/2 - 1 c. Sugar Take your large bowl of snow and stir the snow around a bit to fluff it up. Now quickly stir in just enough milk to make the right consistency of ice cream. Start with about 1/2 cup and keep going until you have enough to make the snow creamy. If you add too much milk and it becomes runny, just add some more snow. Then stir in a little vanilla and sugar, and Viola, you've got yourself some homemade snow ice cream! You can also add some other flavoring such as chocolate or strawberry syrup if desired, but I recommend having it plain at least the first time, it just tastes more snowy that way. The snow ice cream can be put in the freezer and saved for later, but it's best served immediately. Whether you have kids or not its great and at its best after a fresh snow.
  5. I'll second Greg's suggestion for weighted bobbers. Definitely a good Idea for use in the middle of the day. Find the smallest ones available and use light line 2 or 4 lb. Cast up stream and keep contact with the bobber using mends to try and get along drift past you and too keep drag off of your fly. Good luck

  7. great looking fly just change the hackle like Dan said. and all will be good. Hen hackles also make buggers very buggy.
  8. around the neck "church windows" I have stripped one side of the guill and I made some nice wraps with a variegated look to them. Those will be mostly larger sizes tho 12s and 10s Also the wings nearer to the shoulder the bottom or inner has some nice creamy white and the top outer some nice browns. And these will be a little smaller. If the guills seem a little stiff soakem a bit in a wet paper towel. Might help.
  9. I like the UNI for all sorts of stuff but feel I could be done either way and I have. The UNI is easier to produce a really smooth body tho for me.
  10. *applause* nice ya old softy.
  11. WOW I don't follow a post for a couple of Day and BAM the shack nasties come from no where. Go fishin, tie flies, or blow a few dozen rounds out of the old pistol. But don't come on here with a holyier than tho attitude because there ain't a one of us that is. This place is to good and normally well natured for that kinda stuff. Unlike the rest of the Web in general. Heres my to cents. Its really easy to claim things or flame someone online when you hide behind a screen name. It's completely another thing to tell the whole WWW exactly who you are last name and all. In the open and where you live so others can decide exactly who you are. Too me the later is who I choose to believe is the more trustworthy individual. Leonard my friend. I wouldn't sink to the level of some of these semi anonymous posters either! If I was in your position and I for one am glad you didn't reply further. Please keep helping all of us catch fish with you reports, PICS, and in person. It ain't catchin its just fishin ya'all. JJ
  12. Picked up the Kodiacs (sp?) today. They are differently heavier than the ones I was using before. But I also picked up a 100round pack of WWB in 45 for the Glock so went and burned through half of thos shooting up a couple of old Pc monitors at a buddies place. And thats really a fun way to blow off some shack nasties.

  19. I don't care how cold it is, was, or might be. I'm green with envy. The shack nasties have taken there toll with me and the vise/tying is not going to cut it. Did you happen to notice how much warmer the water is than the dry land. think its close to 50 degrees year round there. Usually I get cold after leaving the water during the winter. I need to go take a soak someplace very soon. Thanks for the report.
  20. no email notifications for a couple of months again. PMs work coming and going
  21. cleaned the barrel little lead was in it. No trace of rust in there.
  22. Well I gotta go here too, My personal tomato, cherry tree defender as well as dubbing and soft-hackle provider is a Crosman Medalist Model 1322 in 22cal.Seems to have tons of power and accuracy is as good as I am. However this pistol is pretty loud when shooting from under my covered porch ...lol. Any recommendations for ammo. I have been using field point pellets. Last batch I bought was Daisy No.722(Quick Sliver)? All my guns get cleaned and oiled after use, but I don't know that I have ever reamed cleaned the barrel on this one. Guess I'll run a patch through there and see whats what.
  23. Truly not meaning for anyone to take offense to my following statement. That said. I would rather watch paint dry than a televised fishing competition. But have been In several bass tourneys. And I can't stand or hardly understand tennis and never have played, but I can and sometimes do watch a tennis match strictly for the view.
  24. Good deal Larry!!! I was about to go to the vise and try add figure out how to make em all.Quick!! Now all I gotta do is make sure Leonard has not been busy with too many big rainbows on my new ripped off caddis pattern and we will all be good. I had a great time with the swap.
