  1. O.K. I can see from looking at my atlas that in order to get to carver I need to take 65 south of Harrison then take 123 southwest until I hit the river. Is that about right? Will there be signs to follow once I get to that point?
  2. I'll check out these other spots thanks guys.
  3. I'm really looking for a good spot to camp and wade the river. One of my buddies said that Kyle's Landing was the best spot that he knew of for that. What do you guys think? I have no experience on the Buffalo and I'm very open to suggestions.
  4. I'll check out the MTFA guys. I was thinking about taking the fly fishing class this summer at MSU but I decided to take the summer off, maybe next summer. Thanks for the information guys.
  5. I was wondering if anyone could give me directions to Kyle's Landing? I'll be driving there from Springfield this weekend and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  6. I prefer the sit ins as well. Going up a riffle in a kayak can be difficult but not as difficult as a solo canoe. It can be done I do it all the time on streams in the southern part of the state and I don't have the strongest upper body.
  7. Hey RS, is the spot your talking about down stream or up? I went last summer and couldn't find very much down stream.
  8. Does this trip include fishing? With a moderate amount of fishing at least six days. Without fishing three days. I was planning on taking a week to get from 125 to Galena, and that's floating down stream.
  9. Oh it was great, I don't mind dealing with the floaters until they start messing up the fishing. Most of the people that passed me were fishing the same water I was and causing all kinds of commotion. I still caught some fish but it would have been better if they hadn't passed through. But it's just something you have to deal with. I don't own the river, I wish I did, but I don't.
  10. Had my dad drop me off at green bridge today after the family father's day celebration. Fished for about a half mile up stream then fished my way back to the bridge. Caught around a dozen fish including smallmouth, largemouth, eyes, and a collection of sunfish. Most fish were caught on a strike king bitsy tube in pumpkin with green flake. The two biggest fish I hooked today I lost on an x-rap but I lost them at the end of the fight so I just consider them an easy release. The drunken floaters are back, i saw no less than six different parties come past me. One guy asked me if I wanted to buy some pot. It was a strange encounter.
  11. Do you guys belong to or know of anyone that I could get in contact with about showing me a thing or two. I've been trying to teach myself how to roll cast but so far I can only roll out about ten feet of line. I know there's something I'm missing.
  12. I went to one last year and i was the only guy there that had ever even held a fly rod. There were so many people there that the instructor didn't really have that much time to help me. Do they have advanced lessons?
  13. Where are these clinics held? Are there any around Springfield?
  14. I think that may be the bridge you where speaking of. It's also pretty good.
  15. I second the bass fishing at Table Rock. The fall is my favorite time to fish there.
  16. techo, the only public place that i knew of near Nixa is shelvin rock. There's not a lot of bank to fish there but there are a few spots to catch some sunfish, eyes and maybe a brownie. The best way to fish it is to wade. There's some decent spots both up an down river from there. Good luck.
  17. I was camping at PB #2 at the beginning of this month and wade fished everyday I was there. Man that's gross. Thankfully I feel fine.
  18. I guess I never hit it at the right time. The water there is always shallow. Next time we get some rain I'll check it out.
  19. I'll join the ranks of Missouri State students who thank you for your information. Amp, where do you usually fish at Linden?
  20. I went to B.P. the other day and noticed that they no longer carry the hook I use to Texas rig tubes with. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
  21. Can you still park at 160? I haven't been there for awhile and was thinking of maybe wade fishing down there sometime.
  22. Walter Trout is the most underrated guitarist I've ever seen live. I saw him at the Springfield blues festival a few years ago and he blew my mind.
  23. Looks good and easy to tie. Thanks
  24. Sorry for the late reply I just got back from table rock. There's a boat ramp/wheelchair access down there but it's steep. I could manage it by myself with my kayak just because I have a little one.
  25. The only time I'm not acting like a drunken moron is when I'm fishing.
