  1. I really don't see the issue. If it's good for the environment it's good for humanity.
  2. I agree with Luke, where's the carp in this? They may not have the fastest runs or the most spectacular jumps, but they have more endurance than any other fish that swims in freshwater.
  3. I fish from a kayak all the time and have caught many big fish from it. I've never caught anything as big as a striper before but I would image that it would tow you around too much. A five pound bass will tow me and my forty pound kayak twenty feet in still water. A twenty pound + striper may pull you a hundred yards. I wouldn't feel safe doing it, because during a run you have almost no control over where your going and in moving water that lack of control makes it too dangerous for me. If you can pull it off let me know.
  4. I've always been curious about the James after the Springfield Lake Dam. Is it any good?

  6. Hey Techo, if that guy you saw fishing a spinnerbait was fishing from the shore it was probably me or one of the local guys I know on aunts creek. Saturday was one of the best days of fishing I've had on the lake in a long time. I was just walking the north shore of aunts creek fishing a spinnerbait in the far backs of coves. There was at least one big fish in the back every cove I fished. I was cold, wet and miserable, but I was catching fish so it was great.
  7. The Big 12 could have six of the eight teams in the elite eight and all the finial four spots and Dickie V would still be talking up the Big East and The ACC. I'm tried of all these sports commentators ignoring the Big 12. The best basketball, football, baseball, and softball conference in the country is the Big 12. Enough with all the talk about the east and west coasts.
  8. Nice fish man, that one on your right looks bigger than 5-12. If I caught it would say it was at least 6 or 7. But I am prone to exaggerating.
  9. I would look for anything that would cause friction, such as rust or grime. If there's nothing there then it's got to be your spinner.
  10. Today I went to Ozark park for the second time. I started at 11:00 a.m. and ended around 5:00 p.m. and caught five fish. I started out throwing a crankbait, not because I thought the conditions called for it, but mainly because I'm sick of dragging a worm around. Anyway i didn't catch anything on the crankbait and i really wasn't surprised. After the crankbait I started throwing a finesse jig brown and green and started catching fish. They all came off of submerged wood and fought well. Three fish went over fifteen inches based on the ruler i made on the handle of my rod. Anyway it was a good time and i doubled the amount of fish I caught the first time I went.
  11. I actually use that technique quite a bit on Table Rock. It catches fish for me all through out the warm weather months and is a great alternative when everyone throwing the same thing. I usually use a three or four inch senko but have had success using a zoom finesse worm as well. The colors I prefer are watermelon seed, pumpkin seed, watermelon red or pumpkin with purple flake. Any natural color will probably do the trick.
  12. What color Wart worked the best?
  13. Thanks for the info. guys. I have some free time next week because of spring break I may try to hit it sometime. Thanks again.
  14. That is one bad thing about the senko, I usually don't catch as many big fish with it. But i always catch a lot of fish with it.
  15. the best springtime bass rig is a 4'' senko wacky rigged. I can fish it as fast or as slow or as swallow or deep as I want simply by adding or taking away weight. Colors of choice are watermelon red when the sun is shinning or green pumpkin when it's cloudy.
  16. Thanks for the advise I'll tell her to pick up some white hair jigs.
  17. A friend of mine is going to taneycomo this Sunday and she asked me what she should use. I tole her that I'm not really sure because I've never fished the lake before. So I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? She will be using light spinning equipment and fishing from a boat. Any information would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
  18. Where were exactly were u at?
  19. I know this is the Finley river section, but because the Finely is in relatively close proximity to Bull Creek I was hoping I could find someone to answer a question. My grandfather always told me that Bull Creek is a good fishing stream that doesn't get a lot of attention because of it's size. I never went there with him and he always talked it up so through my fishing life it has been this mysterious, imaginative place that I have built up in my mind. I've tried to find it a few times, with the aid of my conservation atlas, but everywhere I go is private land and the last thing I want to do deal with while fishing are angry locals yelling at me. So my question is, where is a good place to access Bull Creek? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  20. I have to agree, you can't go wrong with the classic rouge color pattern (black back and orange belly). I've also had success with the olive colored X-rap as well. I've caught quite a few with both of these patterns the last couple of weeks at Table Rock. By the way, what do the World Series and gay bears have in common? NO CUBS.
  21. Thanks for the suggestions. I've never used a shimano before but I always hear good things.
  22. I like you article quite a bit. My go to bait on any stream or lake for that matter is the 1/8 once bitsy bug. I love catching bass on table rock fishing out of my kayak fishing behind guys with 20,000$ bass boats and just laying it to them. Sometimes i may encounter a fellow with a enough humility to ask me what I'm throwing, i always tell them a crankbait and then paddle away before they can see what I'm really using.
  23. I'm in the market for a new casting reel and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Ive always used the abu- garica ambassador series and never had any problems with them, but I'm looking to expand my horizons a bit. I'm looking to spend between 100 to 150$ and all i need is something that is durable and fast. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.
  24. I know it's really early but I was wondering if anyone would like to make some predictions on who is going to win the N.L. central this year. Based on off season acquisitions I think it's going to end up almost the same as it did last season.
