  1. i am hearing, that they all will be back paid to boot!
  2. or worse.... scares the fish away!
  3. I"m ok if they do it every weekend, if it means getting rid of all these carp. The noise was actually very comforting after awhile, knowing someone was on the lake fishing.
  4. how about sharing a recipe or two.. Thanks.
  5. I thought this year was very mild compared to past years. Can't wait until the 4th falls on a Friday or Saturday and the economy gets better.. Can't image all the boats. A few years back, I counted 29 boats that i could see off my back deck. This year the high was 10. I am all for safe, slow zones in all creeks and coves or narrow sections.. Also would like to see times that the wake boats would be able to do their thing and not 6am when I'm fishing. But of course, they would be held liable for any dock damages if they go off the main body. I see many docks (maybe grandfathered) on the main lake. Maybe's its time they get moved to the "coves". I can't blame the wake boats for giving off wake in the larger body of water, causing damage to those docks. So, I guess what i am saying is this: if you have a dock on the main body, you do so at your own risk.
  6. I haven't seen or heard of any white bass reports. Usually the Whites run up the Kings or Roaring River. Is the run over? Or just beginning? Anyone seen any quantity of these fish? I'm on vacation next week and was hoping to get into some quantity of fish.

    Whites

I had always heard it was when the Lilac's were in bloom, the white bass ran..
  8. "should have been there yesterday"
  9. I have heard, but have never tried this to unlock a car from a remote location. Call home, have someone on the other end of the phone hold your electronic spare key up to the phone, unlock the door using the open button. I'm told it will work sometimes.
  10. I've had problems with mine and it always came down to the "ground" wire not connected correctly. Hope that's all it is. Glenn
  11. After reading everyones opinion and every one of them has some very valid paoints, it obvious no one will be happy with any decision. Except this one. If you want to eat fish, eat the white bass, crappie or walleye, or support the local restruants. Everyone should catch and release all the Smallies, Large mouths or "K's". .
  12. biffo... there are no frogs in Table Rock, the Musky eat them all...
  13. I had the same problem with starting and then having to shift it fast into gear, so it wouldn't die out. Would sputter at low speeds and kick off. Someone on this site recommended some sea foam and the motor has been great ever since.
  14. Wow... appreciate everyone's feedback already on this. Bill, mostly draggin a worm, carolina rigged.
  15. I know this topic comes up often and mostly around this time of year, but I still have to ask. My wife has offered to have me pick out a fishing rod and reel for Christmas. I have a number of bait casters, but I'm more interested in getting spinning rod and reel. If you could pick one out. One that is used only at Table Rock and mostly for bass, what do you recommend? This would be a once in lifetime, top quality rod and reel. Probably in the $2-$4 hundred range.
  16. Maybe we can get Roland M to play.

Rps. Surely you hurt it pulling in those 10+ walleyes. Just tough it out and every time it hurts, just think of those walleye and surely the pain will go away. Time to learn to cast with the other arm. Heck, all reels are on the wrong side of the rod anyways. Now you won't miss a second switching over after each cast.
  18. Thanks for the advise. It was the 1st dock on the left before the boat ramp. I was very surprised to see it over 50' deep just a few feet from the front of the dock. Most were between the boat ramp and the dock. Your advise is very much appreciated.
  19. Bill. Tough morning. Went out at 530am and fished a dock up Carter Creek. Black bass were slapping on the top until the sun came up. They hit my top water popper a few times, but never hooked. It was if they were slapping at my lure. We threw mini torpedoes, spoons, grubs, rattle traps, bit could not get them to bite at all. Very frustrating as they were everywhere. They were blacks, but busting the surface like whites. After sun up, they went deep and we moved to a point. Tried fishing the 25-35 depth and nothing. Drifted over into the 50' range and caught two. One on a spoon, the other on a nightcrawler. Any suggestions on the top water bite during the grey period would be appreciated.
  20. For what it's worth. Talked to an oldtimer today who fishes the vinney creek/emerald beach area and here's what he said. Fish the 1st dock in the creeks. Fish are biting early and often until the sun shows. Then it shuts down. So, we're headed on to the water at 515am Tuesday to be ready for that "grey" period. I'll let you know what happens tomorrow. By 7am he states, the bite is over. Tomorrow am, we could have some cloud cover, so the bite might go longer.
  21. My alter Ego is the same way. Stubborn. But wasn't it Einstein who said there are no failures, only 10,000 thing you learn that don't work.
  22. Who. Nice job! Rps, how do you troll this deep diver without constantly getting hung up. I seem to lose a bunch of lures trolling.
  23. Thank you for the great report. For awhile I thought maybe it was me. With the floods this spring over both of my weeks vacation and then the 100+ temps on my last one, fishing has been terrible. Bet all the fisherman on the lake is because they can finally get to their boats and are probably trying to make up for the past lost fishing time. I was out fishing at night and caught a few shorts off a chunk rock wind blown shore. Then when dark hit. Nothing. Gar and bluegill loaded on surface in early am for a very short time than quiet. Then too hot and too many boaters. Bring on the fall!!
