binman replied to Stockton Lake Guide Service's topic in Stockton Lake
That's a nice mess of fish there bob. I will be at ruark bluff Friday I will stop in and say hi. Hope my pics from this weeks camping trip look like that!! -
I just figured that since I have no tournaments on Stockton I would try to help some in case other anglers on here have a tourney or just have a hard time getting things going. If you see me out say hi I will be in a blue 21 ft swift with a 200 Johnson can't miss me!!

Might try to hire a guide we fished yesterday from 2- 8 pm and had several short bass most of them were smallmouth but had five really nice keepers with one big bass I personally think the bass bite before dark is excellent. I took a buddy with me the day before and we had seven keepers nothing to brag about but they were keepers. My buddy don't even fish and he had three of the keepers. That's not to mention all the shorts that day. He went home with a smile. I can't tell you where to fish but the dam area is fishing good right now from what I hear!!!!!

Hit the water at 2pm and fished until dark. Started at mutton creek had several shorts that were just shy of 15 in. Ran toward mile long bridge had 2 keepers around that area one good fish about 5 lbs. Might have been a little over. Ran toward cedar ridge and had 3 more keepers solid fish nothing big. The bass we caught tonight were off chunk rock banks and bluffs that have ledges that drop off. Try a tube or jig and twin tail. Green pumpkin is the color. Fish were in 8-20 ft of water. We ended out with about 13.5 lbs or so. Hope this helps some.

Still can't find the spinner bait bite or the foot long worm but did have a decent night tonight on a jig and a craw. I think the spoon bite is going to be awesome during the day but not much good right before dark. I appreciate the report it really helped narrow down what I am throwing. Now if you could just hook them for we would be on to some thing lol!!!!!!

I always enjoy the beauty that roaring river state park has to offer but catching a couple limit's between my group is always an added bonus I don't know if it was just really tough or if it was me but there just didn't seem to be the numbers nor the size across from campsite 180 I saw several fish that could have may be went 8 in if they were lucky very small trout I did not have one that's over 12" but I still had a good time this morning hope next year proves to be better. The key today was slow!!!!

I would say bob bennett can get you on them walleye and will agree with brad there is never a dull moment with him on board but most importantly you will learn a thing or two.

On the one's that do require you to pay they usually have a box and you put your money in an envelope and then put your deal on the mirror but no CC you don't have to pay!

Yeah we take out at Ruark every Thursday

I will start by introducing my self.My name is Brandon I am 23 and I live in Ozarks. The Ozarks is a wonderful place the scenery, outdoor recreation, lakes, caves, rivers, streams miles of forest, I consider to be Mother Nature's so called gift to it's occupants. It truly is amazing to live round these parts but the times and generation's are changing. I take a closer look in to this world now as I did back when. There are folks who watch the sunrise and those that watch the sun set. Some prefer land over water but not me as a child my greatest memories where on the water learning how to fish. I started middle school then in to high school not much fishing along the way. I guess most folks my age was not in to that, most wanted to do drugs and party not think about the consequences of their actions. That was not me as I got older I realized that I had my own addiction it was taking my time and my money it had to stop it was getting out of hand. I tried counseling he just laughed like it was not a real life affecting problem little did he know! I think this had started when I was about 16 or so where I decided that I would dedicate my free time to my addiction but I had to do some work to pay for it. In my free time I would go out to area's I had never been just like an explorer who knew where I would wind up. It was not until I hit about 21 before it hit hard enough that I had to confess. I sat my family down and told them my name is Brandon and I am Fishing Addict. There response was limited to none and I think they had relief of some sorts but that did not solve my problem!! It was never took in a serious manner to no body but me and the only way to fix it was fish more and more. It was great catching all sorts of fish from new areas that I lost sight of the addiction and just started to go on fun. I broke the addiction with out losing the high so to speak. I now enjoy fishing much more than what I used to and I now see the big picture!!

Honestly my partner was late and I did not have an oppurtunity to count it was all we could do to get the boat launched and go. If you can get away it's a good tournament to fish not many boats on the lake. I wish they were 4 hr tournaments but you can catch some good fish right now in 3 hrs.For what they cost you can't go wrong. It wasn't rough just looked it and we thought better safe than sorry that wind can give you a run for your money very quickly when it picks up real good.

Tonight was slow not a very good bite for my partner and I. We had 1 keeper that had came up in about 4 ft of water and we just happened to be there and was thankful for that one. There was a 5 fish limit weighed tonight I believe they had a 5.20 lb or close to that for big so some one got on them but for most it was very slow and the sky did not look too promising!!! I would like to say that Bob did send me a message to let us know what was coming thru thanks for trying to keep every one safe out there.

Stockton Lake Fishing Report-Check Out The Bass
binman replied to Stockton Lake Guide Service's topic in Stockton Lake
Nice job Bob looks like you got them boys on the fish today hope it works out for them. Congrats on last nights win some nice fish you fellas had I really needed one more just couldn't get her but there is always next week. I can't believe the first time perry don't weigh a fish I get beat by you!!!!!! -
Yeah it was brutal with no wind it took me several hours to get on a good solid pattern I had the boat sitting in 15-19 ft of water catching mine right off the bottom I only had 7 keepers but all of them were huge 13-14 inchers very nice crappie I am up set we didn't stay a bit longer but it was just too hot. My fish all came on shiners hooked through the tail with a size 4 aberdeen hook and a size 5 split shot weight I would sink it down to the bottom and crank up about 4 turns then let it sit most of my fish were caught in open water with no timber or brush I was fishing in the creeks that's about all the info I can give you good luck.
-
I came in third with 10 lbs and some and first and second had 11 and some change it usually takes a good bag to win I personally encourage every one to fish so some one new wins every week or I can win them and I would not argue with that!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I dis agree I have fished calm days and wind pick up on me in several crappie tournaments and was still catching fish all day in the same spot so I am not sure about the shallow part but the wind should not make a difference if your fishing brush or timber now in open water or some thing like that I guess but I personally crappie fish a lot and my fish do not ever move due to wind whether I am in open water or not.
-
Your Welcome hope it works they are there.
-
no planer boards color depends on if its cloudy or sunny just switch frequently until you find what works best in your area.
-
Found the crappie this week end on and around timber in the creeks had the boat sitting in 25-30 ft of water and the crappie were 9-18 ft deep all were caugt on minnows lots of shorts but had some really nice 13 in + fish caught. We were fishing sons creek that's the best I can give you if you don't get bit in 20-30 mins move the whites came in shallow to our lights they came up to 4 ft of water. Walleye fishing is real good try old state park and Hawker Point we have been catching little 10 to just shy of a keeper by the dozens pulling crankbaits over deep water around the mile long bridge by old state park. These fish are any where from 15-25 ft deep trolling over 60 ft all the way to 20 ft just adjust we have caught several good 19 in plus fish this way. Let me know how it works for you if you need more help or info just let me know I will be glad to help out.

I bet with the warm weather we get this next week here the white's should bite well at the steel bridge and taylor I will go next week when ever I get a day off and I will let you know how I do.
