  1. Welcome. My wife's family lives in Cabot.
  2. Fished Friday (slow) and Saturday (not slow). Details: http://looknfishy.blogspot.com/2014/12/in-good-company-little-red-river.html
  3. It was rough Sat...I put in at Lobo and floated down to Mossy, waded till lunch. Then floated to DS. Fished all day in the wind...not much fun fly fishing in that wind but the fish were biting on that stretch. Caught around 25 bows, no browns on Sat. Hope to get everything in my blog tonight. Accepted.
  4. I fished Friday and Saturday. Fishing was pretty good with some 15-16" Bows caught. Going to post a TR on my blog soon, with pictures and additional details. My FB page has photos now. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100006556337961
  5. Was in the area on vacation with the family and got a chance to sneak away for a few hours. Had a great few hours below the dam. Look'n forward to a return trip. http://looknfishy.blogspot.com/2014/11/we-interrupt-your-thanksgiving-for.html
  6. I've seen a mountain lion during LandNav traning in the Laguna Mtns, CA. It was perched on a rock overlooking a valley about 30 meters away. If you saw it, it wasn't a threat...they are pretty good at stalking their prey, they don't just walk around looking for something to kill. But I can't say the hunter didn't feel threatened...I did..b/c it's not common to see one. But I wouldn't shoot every gator I run across on the water either...and they make the hair on the back of my neck stand up when I'm in my kayak and come across one. This happened in my neck of the woods and hunters in the area know they are around. With Felsenthal NWR in the area, hogs, black bears, gators and mountain lions exist in SEARK.
  7. I've been posting TR's in South region on here from Grand Isle, LA, check my blog for info also. The redfishing is some of the best anywhere. I prefer to use my kayak but Bobby Lynns in Leeville, LA, now Top Water Marina (still using old web name, etc.) rented boats when I was there a few weeks ago (new owner mat not any longer)...15ft carolina skiffs...http://www.bobbylynns.com/boat-rentals. If you have a kayak and want to use it, I'll can provide some info on launch sites and areas to fish. As for lodging I like to camp at GI state park...nice, clean, and space...not many visit the island in Jan-Feb so you'll probably have it to yourself. If you prefer a room, Bridgeside Marina has rooms starting at $75....http://www.bridgesidecabinsandmarina.net/id24.html As far as Jan-Feb...it's the off season, the fishing won't be the best unless the area gets a good warm up. Most everything will be closed or on limited hours. I plan to take my last trip in Dec...after that I don't go back until April. If you can go in Dec, the fishing has been great this year and was last year also. PM me if you have more questions or need more information. Hope some of this helps.
  8. Awesome. What I meant earlier was, you should sale it asap, lol. Those yamaha's are junk.
  9. Yamaha's are great motors. I have a 1989 yamaha 115 and I love it. It's been in my family, dad and now mine, since 1992. It runs great and has required very minimal maintenance. Should probably do more but I only use it a few times during the summer. Edited (fish brain happens when I talk about boats and fishing)-My point was: For $500...I think I would keep it as a back-up. Never know when you may need it. * I have 0 mechanical skills...just user experience.
  10. Nice lookn fish, I especially like the spot.
  11. Day 2 of my trip. Great fishing as usual. See below: http://looknfishy.blogspot.com/2014/11/needs-pinch-of-salt-part-2.html

  13. Never seen this, figured other's might have missed it also.
  14. I guess I missed this from 2013. CC featured at the 12:40 mark. Cameo from Mr. Jimmy Walker.
  15. Thx everyone. Gonna have to work out a shuttle for future trips. Lots of water to cover, 4 miles, before the fishing gets good if you start st SB and return to SB.
  16. Nice entrance. Cool video...when will we see the follow-up?

  21. If you liked part 1...check out part 2. http://looknfishy.blogspot.com/
  22. Made a trip down earlier this week and stayed at the state park. The Isle is pretty much empty right now...great time to fish. Caught so many reds that my hands blistered, some on the fly, some on conventional gear. Big fish was a 38" bull red caught on my speck rod....14lb mono to 30lb braid, loop to loop connection using perfection knot (knot strengh tested). Great fight lasted about 15 min pulling me about 100yds. I love that place!!! Details at: http://looknfishy.blogspot.com/
  23. Not the best. But I think a lack of knowledge about the lake was main reason. I feel more time on the water is needed!!!
  24. Took the cuda to an awesome lake lookn for bass. The Bone!! Details: http://looknfishy.blogspot.com/
