  1. He forgot to mention $999 PLUS THE COST INVOLVED FOR THE OBVIOUS NEED FOR "NEW UPHOLSTERY"
  2. Phil Lilley, in my opinion, contributes more good to the area than anyone . . . He has become a one-man "NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH" force, a supplier of maps to help all of us negotiate the sometimes-threatening waters and familiarize us with the various markers and holes along the way, a composer of extremely detail and current fishing reports often accompanied with video and technique and on and on and on . . . extremely helpful and willing to go out of his way to simply improve the Taneycomo experience for all of us . . . Phil, I hereby crown thee the true "MR. T" (T for Taneycomo, of course)
  3. fishing is just that - "FISHING" . . . not necessarily "CATCHING" . . . your requirements and expectations are above and beyond those of most experienced anglers . . . comfortable setting, CONSISTENT CATCHING for several hours IN ONE PLACE, kids not complaining . . . I don't know if the Ozarks' best guide service could pull that one off . . . sounds like an ideal day in the hereafter to me:)
  4. beautiful brown! . . . Phil, can't thank you enough for always making me feel like I am somewhat in touch with the latest happenings at Taneycomo . . . your info is always the best, up-to-date and greatly appreciated by those who enjoy the area . . . I know it takes a great deal of effort on your part to continually get these posts on the site . . . please know that they are SO MUCH APPRECIATED by everyone . . . THANK YOU:)
  5. nice job . . . beautiful brown:)
  6. Fishad . . . I haven't talked to anyone as of yet who has actually used the Magic Popper . . . I haven't broke mine out of the packaging yet . . . but will shortly and report back
  7. I am a big fan of YELLOW MAGIC but have not tried SOUTH FORK'S MAGIC POPPER . . . has anyone else tried it yet?
  8. very interesting innova . . . sounds like you know your stuff:)
  9. thanks abkeenan . . . this photo was taken with my "fishin camera" . . . Canon SD870IS ELPH . . . does a great job and, unlike a cell phone camera, produces high enough resolution to produce an enlarged print with detail . . . I remember years back near St Louis along the Great River Road in Alton, Illinois, people would line up at roadside fish stands to buy deep fried boneless carp sandwiches fresh-caught out of the Illinois River . . . there must be a way to prepare them without the bones:)
  10. now you've got me interested in perhaps something I would never before considered . . . keeping, cleaning and eating a carp . . . I have never even tasted a prepared carp . . . any suggestions or links from anyone who has eaten what they would consider to be a "tasty carp?"
  11. the line is Bass Pro Shops XPS Signature Series and it made a believer out of me . . . I had to keep increasing the drag setting as my spool neared the end time after time . . . I'm sure I came as close as you can to the breaking point . . . the line performed better than I would have ever expected . . . incidentally, that's a ZinkerZ PBJ (5” . . . cut in half) on a 1/8 oz Chompers mushroom-head jig
  12. thanks for the positive comments on the photo . . . it is kind of a "pretty" ugly fish . . . it was a lot of fun . . . kept me in suspense for the first 10 minutes until I finally got a glimpse of it . . . unwound my 100 yd spool to within 10 yards of the end on at least five different occasions . . . hope everyone out there gets to experience a "surprise" hook-up like this at least once in their lifetime . . . been seeing so many great photos of bass on the forum this season that I thought I'd throw everyone a curve to break it up a little:)
  13. beautiful crappie . . . every year at this time I really wish I knew how to fish for crappie:-(
