Fished Fellows this afternoon. Only caught 2 LM bass. Both came on a white and chartruse spinnerbait. First fish was 17 inches, second was 19.5 inches. Returned both to the Lake. Wind was blowing alot. Water was 61 to 62 degrees and a little dingy green.
Good luck to all and stay safe.
You will have to buy a $35.00 boat permit to put your boat on fellows. You pay that at the marina and they put a sticker on your boat. The wind can make the lake pretty rough when it is coming out of the south.
I have never heard of anyone catching a smallmouth on Fellows but maybe that was not your question.
I took the kids over there on wed. march 28th and we saw a guy land a 36" mushy will fishing for crappie. After taking it to the marina to have his picture taken, him and his wife released the fish. I was impressed with that.
I forgot to mention water level was about normal pool. About 12" to 18" below the courtsey dock. Water temp was 46 to 48, although I would say it probly went up on Sunday.
We were fishing over brush piles with jigs and swimming minnows. Tried about every color. We throw some crank baits and some jerk baits looking for bass. When bass fishing we were fishing around secondary points and then fished channels back into shallower water.
My 9 year old son and I fished fellows for about 4 hrs this morning. We did not get a bite. I talked to several other boats and they all had the same results. Hopefully better fishing is coming soon. If you have had better luck, please let us know what we are doing wrong. Any help would be much appreciated by a 9 year old.
