Found a good crappie bite near the dam around docks at dusk. My cousin and I caught a dozen in hour all over 10" on shad colored Larew Long John minnows on an 1/8th oz jig head. The bites were all solid, it felt like the jig was hitting a dock cable as I was swimming it slowly a few feet below the surface.

I don't think they count boats but as of the Thursday before the tournament I emailed them and was told over 1800 people had signed up.

I ended up catching one nice one early Sunday morning. Won enough to cover our entry fees. We'll be back next year for sure. She hit a swimbait next to a bluff near the dam before the sun got too high. Couldn't get bit after that. The winner reported catching his at the 2 mile marker on a Omega jig in 2 fow at around 7:30 am Sunday.

Good luck to you as well! I fished the spring tournament and there were about 300 fewer signups at this stage than the fall. This will be my first fall bash. It will probably be like opening morning at a trout park tomorrow. Elbow to elbow with frost on the ground. I hope someone from the forum places or at least has a good story to tell. Stay safe out there!!

At last count (late Thursday) they are reporting 1800 entries. Anyone on this forum fishing the tournament this weekend? I'll be out there with 1000+ boats trying to win the fishing lottery.

That would have been amazing to watch all day. If I tried to skip a jig under a dock with a baitcaster I'd end up with a crows nest backlash and the jig would likely be on top of the dock.

Found the story. Flipping docks, what a shock.

Did anyone attend the weigh-in yesterday? What did Dion or any of the other top finishers have to say about what it took to get em in the boat?
-
Yeah, @redsoxwschamp, we wanted him to have a good time and actually catch something, hence no boston attire.

Took my 8 yr old son and one of his friends out for his birthday Saturday morning to see if we could catch some bluegill on live bait. We put in at Aunt's Creek at 7. We motored toward Point 10 to one of my favorite docks. The dock had two boats on it already so we stayed out and tied the boat to a standing cedar in 15 fow while we waited for the dock to clear up. We fished there for a half hour and my son's little friend caught a keeper spot on a drop shot with a night crawler on crappie gear. That was fun to watch! Finally the dock fishermen left and we motored over and tied up. It was on for the next two hours. The boys had a blast and caught over a dozen hand sized gills. We found them in 10-15 fow and the drop shot live worm worked really well. Good times!

I just got off the phone with the Corps and the gentleman I spoke with said the gate is only going to be used in the event of a flood or government shut down. It is NOT going to be used to keep people out in the off season. I hope this is true.

Aunts Creek, Post In Ground At Entrance?
RogueAgent replied to GREENTRITON's topic in Table Rock Lake
Yes, it stinks. Lots more about the topic -
Nice work! Thanks for reporting.

I wonder how much time it takes to take all that video and cut it down to show just these snippets of film? Anyone have experience with these cams and the post production?

April 6 - 11 Better Late Than Never Report
RogueAgent replied to wdberkley's topic in Table Rock Lake
Well done! Love the GoPro shots. -
Forgive me if these have been posted before. I know I watched the McClelland vid from this forum but this link has a ton of them showing other anglers. I just love watching these guys work. Enjoy.

Just got mine, can't wait to try them. Thank you Frank!

We caught them on both the pearl white / black back and the blue thunder colors on Saturday. Smallies really liked that blue thunder. On those baits we just used 1/8th oz jig heads you might use for crappie tube jigs - with the short shank hooks. They were hitting them so hard you really didn't have to set the hook, just a sweeping hook set as soon as they stopped the bait with your rod tip low to the water throughout the retrieve and during strike. A quick net man is essential with those little hooks. One smallie was around 18" and the hook was nearly bent straight. Next time I'll probably go with more of a swim bait jig head with a larger hook if I can find some in 1/16th and 1/8th oz that don't tear the front of the bait up too badly. Those bait saver molds are handy for plastics with more girth but these minnows are so thin they tend to split apart if you aren't careful. Would have loved to have been back out there today before this storm. Might go out Wednesday after work. - Troy

Yes, it is! I have caught all three bass species in one day on the Rock with them (four if you count the meanies). It's deadly on whites at LOZ in the fall, too. I get mine in bulk from Brannan's online store. Oh, and sorry @techo - I just had to give back to the forum. -Troy

I know, I know, there aren't supposed to be any fish in Aunt's Creek according to some of you but I keep going back and we were rewarded today. Three of us put in at 7 in my old Cajun. We spent about 15 minutes near the ramp and we caught short Kentuckies right off the bat on a swimming minnow. Went over to Little Aunt's and it was too crowded so we fished our way back out to the main lake area and kept the wind at our backs as best we could. For the next hour or so I tried the McStick, Wart, Biffle Bug and couldn't get bit until we switched to paddle tails. We fished till 4pm and caught four keeper K's, two keeper smallies and this big girl. My brother-in-law's personal best, she went 6.4lbs on my scale and man was she THICK with eggs. All our main lake fish except for two today came in 4-6 fow on shad colored Larew's Long John minnows on 1/8th oz jig heads and Keitech 4" swim baits I got from Fin N Feather. They all went back in the water where we found them. Around noon/1pm we ran out of Keitech's (they just disintegrate after 2 fish, just like you all said they would). I tried some other swim baits but couldn't get bit nearly as often. I had several Keitech's get their paddle tails bit off and they kept catching fish which struck me as odd. Made me want to try a trailer hook but I didn't. After an hour of trying different minnow style baits I switched to a Zoom trick worm in green pumpkin red on a 1/4oz head and moved out a little deeper and caught more Kentuckies. We ended the day with over 30 bass and a hand sized gill. The Rock was good to us today. Now, where is the A&D Ointment? Sunburn is killing me, but, it's a good hurt Hope this helps somebody, RogueAgent

Apple and Droid versions available. Can't wait to give it a try. "Using the Find MO Fish application, users can view location maps of Missouri’s major lakes, rivers and streams. The application also generates fast and accurate driving directions to numerous MDC boat ramps across the state. The application also allows users to find exact locations of underwater fish structures and guide their boats to their favorite fish attractors."

50lb spiderwire on my ancient Ambassadeur 5500 on a 6'6" Medium Heavy BPS Extreme throwing these. I like this non-weighted version of the A-rig better than the ones BPS is selling, it feels more like a spinner bait in the water and it doesn't wear your arm out as bad.
