  1. tillis still has the fountian. however, it is currently closed cause of that christmas light display that is put on there this time of year What did you catch them on?
  2. i dont think a sonic boom would have cause the ground to shake. me and my 2 friends i was with on the other side of the stream felt it. so did the guy fishing next to us. i dunno though. i am also curious about the survey flags, maybe a walkway like the other side of the stream?
  3. I saw you guys there, never got around to making it over to introduce myself. you were catching them like mad...i on the other hand not so much. the boom i think was blasting, you could hear construction noise after they did that, plus where i was standing up in the front area the ground was shaking when it went off.
  4. i saw that fish and that thread. i'll try to find you guys. I'llbe in some green waders with a brown g loomis hat. also will have the big camera trying to photo the eagles if they are out
  5. Going down this saturday for some nonsense. River seems to be pretty high and alot of water moving through. i dont have high hopes after everything i keep hearing about the park. i mainly want to go for the free ride down there and the eagles, haha
  6. might have to break down to get one then since they wont let me use my kayak there So the next is...who wants to join in on my quest for muskie on the fly?!?!
  7. excellent. can you take their rental boats on that lake or is it bank fishing only?
  8. well thats just awesome that they are doing well and that 12-20 inchers are in there. thats really all the bigger of one i want to catch. And i know a big topwater or crank is the way to go, but im gonna fly fish for em
  9. I didnt know they stocked under 100 a year, but there have got to be a couple of them in there. i might try for some come spring time, seems that if there would be any in there now they are going to be in the deepest spots starting to winter over. come spring time i will try them i guess. yeah i have seen the pickerals before, they would be fun too. gotta catch em on the fly though
  10. So it is my understanding that one of the smaller lakes on the premis holds muskie. I kinda want to try and catch one. Has anyone ever caught one or tried to catch one there? I know its not going to be a monster,, but i think a 16-18" muskie would be pretty cool.
  11. You are correct. The imperial is their mid grade entry rod if you will. it is a step above the triumph, and quiet a step is is. most of my fly rods are the St. Croix Reign's, they dont make it anymore. They were replaced by the imperial, so i got them for super happy clearance price at cabelas...i digress.... i go to hargrove, i love that place, and i used to work there.
  12. i woulda let it go. however...i HATE how fish taste. So for me, i let everything go. doesnt matter what it is haha. Fish just arent very tasty ( to me ). I would have taken his picture, gotten some measurments, if someone had a scale on them, good for me, but back into the water he woulda went. And off to the taxidermist i would go to get a fiberglass replica. Fish mounts just dont hold up well over time, IMO.
  13. hmm i wonder if they even can section a rod....hmm... i was planning to go tot he fly shop after work today anyway, maybe i'll ask him. I also think that they changed the names around. I think the avid, when i bought mine, was their entry level rod ( or i was given the wrong one ) Reason i think this is becuase the new ones are about 220-230, i paid 170 or so for mine...with a reel and line. maybe they liked where the rod was going and decided to improve on it, i dunno. In all honesty i might see if you still have it aroudn xmas time, if i have some extra left from my camera purchase i will strongly consider just buying this rod.
  14. You know it is really really tempting to buy that rod anyway, cause i wanted another 3 wt to keep in my truck as a just in case rod. but i REALLY want a 4 piece....i keep telling myself that. haha. wanna do a backwards trade In the brief moments i spent casting the the IPC rod, the action seems alot smoother. it doesnt seem that the tip of the rod "throws" the line downward as much. it seems on the one i own that if you come just alittle too much forward them tip of the rod really shoots down throwing the line short.
  15. they dont make it in aquariums unless you have the water chilled. already tried this when i had natives.
  16. yeah i was casting one at cabelas not to long ago and i had to put it back before it went home with me. i still almost want this one but i dont need 2 7' 3wt Avids. i do like the newer styles better then the older.
  17. oh man...if only this was the 4 piece....i have the older version of this rod and i love it...but i want to get the 4 piece one for better backpacking
  18. when i worked at the pet store, we would take the laser pens and shine them into the fish tanks we had, the fish would sinatantly go crazy trying to eat it. it was the stangest thing i have ever seen. even the community fish who dont "attack" other fish went nuts over it
  19. well im retarded. i read that all totally wrong.....HAHAHAHAHA!!!!
  20. hmmm....KS....its not THAT far of a drive.
  21. too bad they cant make a deputy program where people can go to training classes and issues citations and stuff in these areas. i know i'd love to be "that guy" sneaking thru the trout parks handing out tickets for people not following the rules.
  22. where is this strangercreek you speak of? i have never heard of it
  23. you cant really go wrong with Simms stuff. I will be purchasing a set in Feb as my current Hodgemen waders have developed their 4th leak. Im not too happy or impressed with them.
  24. there is a very good chance that they are. the stocks are usually made by the company importing them, given them their own little tweaks. but the barrels, springs/pistons etc are usually only from a couple manufacturers. That being said, most of those guns you really cant go wrong with.
  25. Most of those guns are pretty simple to repair, and there are kits out there avaliable to repair if something does come up. it does take quiet some time for them to get in a state where repair is needed, but it can happen. You should be good to go with the remington, i wonder who they are importing it thru, most the firearm manufacturers are importing another dedicated air guns companys gun and calling it theirs. if it doesnt come with a scope, make sure you get a scope ment for air rifles. they have a very strange recoil that absolutly destroys centerfire scopes. my old break barrel gun was fun, i wouldnt mind getting another, but i would prolley go ruger or gamo if i went with one.
