  4. Awesome job...I need some duck recipes!!
  5. Hunted the Rock Saturday morning with my little brother Blake, his first hunt, and we were successfull. Hunted near Kimberling City down DD hwy, and man was it foggy WOW!! We got a total of 5 before we had to call the hunt but we got this gem. This golden eye was banded 7/6/2005 in Bemidji, MN, too young to fly at the time. I let my little brother claim it and get the certificate, however it will be on display on my lanyard for now for public viewing.
  6. The fish was fully revived before we left. We made sure of that. Shes still out there......
  7. For night time I would use red leaches or white bunny zonkers at night. Use 6-8LB tippet straight from the fly-line about 4-5ft long. Cast straight out and let it swing keeping the line tight and short steady strips 3 or 4 inches at a time on the retrieve. Try to start fishing as soon the shut the water down. Be mobile too, don't just stand in one spot all night, move around. Also don't forget to turn around and cast toward the bank, you'd be suprised what will be lurking at the waters edge..... Tell your nephew THANK YOU for his service and God's speed. Tight lines!
  8. Really enjoyed the blog. Great pics.
  9. Are you all fishing on the wrong side of the Christian county line? Near the quarry?
  10. Seth...I saw some a few weeks ago when the water was warmer just above the shoal in the deeper water, 3 to be exact. I anticipate with the warm weather and a little higher water the past 72hours you may start seeing some action up there.
  11. That makes two of us turning our 4pc into 5pc....sent mine off last friday....love the warranty.
  12. here it is.
  13. no pic no fish
  14. Sorry Duane, didn't see this till now.....I think we may be back down thursday.
  15. Sweet looking stringer. We had guy down at blunks last night that hooked onto a little channel cat. We fished blunks last night and caught 99% percent males. The bite shut down right at 11:30, we were talking about the water getting warmer and higher, and sure enough it came up 400 cfs while were there according to the USGS chart. See you on the water...
  16. T'was a good night indeed, with the exception of one broken fly rod (thank goodness for lifetime warranty). Sorry for the delayed picture....No pic no fish....so here's the fish...Heading back down tonight...See you on the water.
  17. Michael and I had a good time and always great to see Duane catch all them walleye, we thought about leaveing around 1am but after a count of 21 fish in the cooler IT WAS ON we weren't leaving without two limits, limited out just 30 minutes later. I caught the majority by leaving the fly in the shallow seams and slow short strips every minute or so.
  18. Just TWO MORE!! A Pic from last night...2 good sows that topped 2 lbs...
  19. Wow this got out of hand quickly. This forum in my opinon is used to BUY SELL TRADE items that people want to get rid of. I think it goes against the principel of this forum when someone buys items in bulk, that local shops sell, come on here and knowningly undercut the fly shops right in their own parking lot or at the local fishery. (probabaly makes a bigger profit than the shops, wink wink) There's places for that, ebay-amazon-etc.., not here, not for this item, not for this type of deal. If I had a shop and saw you doing this, as a flyshop owner I'd be a little irritated. Michael, as colorful and outspoken as he is, was just makeing a valid point, not an attack, Brian just happend to be the one who posted the ad. Sell your extra rod, sell you spare reels, get rid of those old boots......but don't go buy 50 rods at a dealer/clearence price come on here and advertise, thats just wrong this is not the spot for this particular business venture. By the way, any left handed shooters? I have a 30.06 lefthanded bolt action Winchester for sale, great condition......(don't tell winchester) ha ha
  20. I got this off of MODOTs webstite for Dec 14-18 2009 Taney County Lake Taneycomo Bridge Project: Branson/Hollister (Taney County) Contractor crews will begin moving in equipment and could begin clearing trees and brush along Route 76/Business 65 on the Hollister side of Lake Taneycomo. Equipment may enter and leave work areas. One-lane traffic is possible during nighttime hours. The work is part of a project to build a new Lake Taneycomo bridge, connecting Branson and Hollister; rehabilitate the existing Lake Taneycomo bridge and build an oval “round-about” on the east side of Lake Taneycomo connecting the two bridges with Route 76/Business 65. Project completion: Dec. 2011.
  21. I hear the new Taneycomo bridge will be starting construction. Can anyone confirm this? Could this mean long periods of 0 generation? Your thoughts?
  22. Sounds like fun. I hope the MCD throws about 200 lunkers into the water from their resource. Count me in.
  23. As far as the Natural Bait, corn is not a natural bait either, we can't use that on the upper. You wouldn't dress up a piece of corn would you? I'm leaning toward the caffine.
