  1. LMW, As I said in the other thread, we're all glad you found your wife safe and I know that must have been a scary feeling... Thanks to you and your wife for having a sense of humor enough to let this bunch of nutz in here have some fun. Let me tell you... just so you will know.... if the outcome had been different, this bunch would have been totally the opposite for sure. And I'm glad you don't have any fly rods sticking out of any of your body parts.... (Hey, russ... my home computer is in the shop or I WOULD have been the first... )
  2. Yep... it's a 'Bow alright... but not your typical "hatchery rat"... Looks more like a "successful" spawn...
  3. LMW, Welcome to the nut house... Lots of good info here for sure... and some BS mixed in for good measure... Glad you found your wife OK... Seriously, that was a scary feeling, I'm sure. Dano... I resemble that remark...
  4. Your problem is you didn't get a man bag to match your wading boots, you silly boy.... OCD.... Old Confused Dontgiva####
  5. By the way, Phil... how big was the "hubby?"
  6. (Stupid stupid knee!!!!) And I have to go to Branson this afternoon... and Cindy is on her way to Rolla to work tonight... and that means she'll sleep all day tomorrow... and then she's going to a "hen party" tomorrow night... and I can't stand up for more than a few minutes at a time!!! STUPID KNEE!
  7. BEAUTIFUL part of the river between Woolum and 65 bridge... Many wadeable fishing spots. Recent rain, cool temps, and just being fall it should be great! Even if the fish don't bite. I like fishing the Woolum area myself... there's a rather long pool there that use to be chocked full of fish... just before the shoals... You can get a lot of info at the Tyler's Bend Visitor's Center on 65 just south of the bridge...
  8. Think about it, GF... "Natural law" as dictated by "MOTHER Nature..." Sort of reminds me of a joke my dad use to tell all the time... A police officer finds a woman squatting in the river (or insert pond, lake, creek, ocean, or other body of water as you please here) urinating... He says to her... "Excuse me ma'am... but you're not suppose to do that.. Why are you doing that?" She says, "Well... I think my husband drowned here..." The cop looks puzzled and says, "But how does that explain you peeing in the river?" "Every little bit helps!" she says...
  9. Is there any other kind? ("BU-RAH!" and a "Semper Fi" from my late dad... who never lost his "jarhead" persona for the 50 years he lived after he got out...)
  10. Ron.... you, my friend, are a very wise man....
  11. Yeah, but you got up in the middle of the night and put it back on, didn't you.... c'mon... fess up....
  12. I did get to see the chopper, AF1, and the C-140 cargo jet that carries all the limos and "stuff"... It's still parked out there just across from our parking lot.... next to all the Cessnas and Pipers... LOL... looks like their "big brother" looking over them... When Clinton was pres, I worked in Hope, AR. At that time there were like 3 or 4 teams assigned to his travels... one or two before he got there, one while he was there, and one already waiting at the next stop. We were told to make sure there was nobody on the roof of the building here - working or otherwise - during "W's" visit. Same thing when Bill would come to Hope... TO, Kewl assignment to tell his kids and grandkids about...
  13. OH MY GAWD! But one thing, SIO3.... What freakin' brand of fly line were you using? and your leader/tippet configuration please? I WANT DETAILS, MAN! DE-TAILS!!!! (My PERSONAL choice for fly line is the new RIO "HiTech TotalMemoryLapse FlorescentCamo DoubleWeightForwardShooting SilkTitanium SuperSlick TeflonSiliconBaconGrease-Coated/Impregnated" fly line.... Retail price, $275. Man... I've loved that stuff forever.....
  14. Phil, In that first pic... that rod looks longer than 9 ft... or is that an "optical illusion"....
  15. Well... at least she's OK... or at least she's ALIVE... (Don't think I want to be in their living room tonight...)
  16. Hey... my wife will tell you.... I may be easy, but I ain't cheap....
  17. GF, Otters, hell... That's whutcha had kids fer ain't it? And you can whup there butts if they eat more than you allow... Don, I love that story... good one. Now... Click here for another good true story... Only the names have been changed to protect the innocent... (Dang, I gotta update my website...)
  18. Hey Jerod.... tell us how you really feel... do you like the vest or not? YES... great review... I must be pretty particular on my vest/pack. I'm on my forth one in six years. But now I may have to try another one... One question, though... are the zingers attached so they can't be moved? Are they placed where they are not "in the way?"... OK... I konw... that's TWO questions.... so sue me...
  19. New? In Mammoth Spring? You gotta be kiddin' me, Griff... Well, there IS that new ice cream place just south of the motel... I haven't fished the Spring this year either, but the reports I've gotten from friends, no changes. The big flood upset the fishing for a while, but it's back to normal pretty much...
  20. Air Force 1 is parked out here at the airport...or it was at 10am when I was out there... I've heard two stories... one that he's here to help Talent's campaign... the other that he's here to help McCaskill's....
  21. Hey Leonard.... See what happens when I'm not there? Still way better than watchin' Jay Leno...
  22. As I end a lot of my posts.... "Just my opinion... for what it's worth... and that ain't much..."
  23. Gig? Jeez, Don... two words for ya... Dyno Mite.... And if'n that don't get 'em... my .270 will...
  24. Oh gawd, Steve... That IS a good one... Follow up to the duck decoy story.... About 10 years or so ago, my ex-wife's sister and family - there were five of them in the car - were on their way to deer camp one afternoon late. It was the Friday night before opening day of gun season. Just about sundown, while you could still just barely see, one of them spotted a HUGE buck stading out in a field just off the highway they were on. Well, they are not the most scrupulous bunch of hunters in the woods, so they stop and the daughter-in-law is next to the window on that side, so she gets to take the shot... Nobody up the road... nobody down the road... deserted highway... Easy shot... BAH-WHOOOOM! She nails the big buck in the neck... But they immediately notice two things.... The deer is still standing, headless.... and there are blue lights and spot lights everywhere.... AGFC had set up a "dummy deer" to stake out spot lighters, poachers, and night hunters.... Cost them $1000, five rifles and shotguns, and hunting priveliges for a couple of years....
  25. "Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after." ~Henry David Thoreau (Thanks Dano....)
