  1. I don't know if there is any place that serves fried crappie... If there is, I'm IN!!!! Michael is Michael Kyle... Owner of Backcountry Outfitters... He's slippin' not seeing this and me giving him a hard time...
  2. Saaaahhhh..WEEEEEEEEEEETTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mind sharing your bending method/equipment?
  3. $6,000 worth of rods, reels, lines, leaders, tippets, pliers, feathers, fur, hooks, vices, lamps, vests, waders, boots, bags, beads (Tungsten - available from Jimmy T and very low prices... get yours today!!!), books, videos, magazines, licenses, sunglasses, and various other gadgets.... and then this... I'm pawnin' my fly fishin' stuff and headin' to WM to get me a purty pink Barbie rod and reel and some stink bait... Uh... maybe you should make that a SAGE SPIDERMAN rod and reel for me...
  4. What kind of smoker do you have? Smaller fire... less wood.... close the dampers down... 185 - 225 deg F and 185-190 is best. Also, keep the ribs as far from the fire as you can. As for the foil method, why not?... Oh...w ait... foil the ribs... NOOOOO.... foil the wood/chips.... yes.... For a "quickie" I've boiled the ribs and smoked them for an hour or two then sauce them for another 30 mins or so... Turns out better than you think. Then again, a lot depends on the kind of smoker you're using... Mine is a CharBroil side fire box type.
  5. Phil, You don't offer PB&Js at your place? (Marketing...)
  6. Tinner.... sssshhhhhh... you're giving away Leonard's secret weapon....
  7. Oh... welll... in that case I'm sure he'll load up the grill and stop by Harter House and the beer store for ya and bring everything down to the pavillion and have the steaks ready when you come out of the water... candlelit steak dinner at the pavillion... Michael makes a great French chef... How do you like your steaks? And Leonard could be your French waiter....
  8. If it's HALF as good as the others, it's worth it... and I'm sure it's BETTER than the predicessors....
  9. Does Kristina know you're pulling a "Fred" and giving away the store?
  10. I think it was leonard and he ripped off the window signs and painted it red so nobody would recognize it...
  11. No no no no no.... Rich... you know better than that... Leonard only uses velveeta flavored power bait impregnated chili peppers... I think I'll go down tonight and see if I can find any "stray" chili peppers hangin' on the cable... That first one is a funny lookin' 'bow there, Bud...
  12. I've heard about the Mexican place at the Landing but not tried it.... yet... Pricey leaves out Ocean Zen and Radizzo in Springfield, but both excellet... Candlestick is a good choice, but Montana Mike's is pretty good and less expensive. Go to Harter House and buy a couple of steaks and bring them over to Michael's and have him fire up his grill for ya.... He'll even provide the beer!!! AND the fried Crappie!!! What's that place by the gas station there on 76 that has hotdogs and burgers? GREAT dogs and burgers... It's right by a chinese place if I remember right...
  13. Naw, Tightline... My buddy and me didn't drive all that far.... I mean.... WAY TO GO!!! I wish they would get one of the enforcement guys to come down there once a day for a while just to keep everyone on their toes. Yeah, we need more guys like that... and I wish I would be more like that...
  14. Thought I would give you guys a peek at what was going to be up for auction at Conclave this year. I just put the finishing touches on this one today. Taking it to Backcountry Outfitters Monday morning... By the way, the drift boat is WAY KEWL!! If you're in Springfieild, drive by BCO and take a look at the Clacka......
  15. Anybody wanna buy a Fender Pro 185 Amp?
  16. Did somebody say BEER?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

    Fried Okra

BLASPHEMIST!!!!!!!!! BAN HIM, PHIL... BAN HIM!!!! (Just kiddin' CMAC... kind of... ) That does sound good. For a different twist on okra, cut up okra, potatoes, squash, tomatoes, zucchini, and onion, dredge in cornmeal and flour, and fry in a iron skillet. Add some corn off the cob if you like... OK, CMAC... now you've done it... Thinkin' 'bout fried okra always makes me cry...
  20. Click here to see what happens when you have spent too much time on Ozark Anglers...
  21. ssshhh... .it's a well known secret... Not an "official" website, but AGFC has some info and you can google "Dry Run Creek Arkansas" and get a few hits...
  22. You also have to tip each point with a bit of night crawler and power bait... That's fly tying material, right?
  23. Ronnie, You will NOT be sorry you did... But you will regret it if you don't get them down there... I talked to a kid a while back who fished DRC a few times and his 16th birthday was a disappointment because he realized he could not fish there anymore...
  24. Who was that masked little man? Nicely done, Mr W.... And Mrs W.... She really has "the eye".... LOVE those shots from the distance...
  25. I may sound like a broken record, but I don't care... There ain't NUTHIN'.... I mean NUTHIN' like seeing the face of a youngster pulling one of those hawgs out of DRC. If you get the chance, take your kids to the Youth Conclave at Mountain Home October 4th. Even if you don't have kids, volunteer to help with the Youth Conclave... It is an experience you will talk about for years... Nice trip, Brian...
