Eric, i too enjoy watching your reports and not once did it cross my mind you were feeding the public "false" information to drum up business for yourself. I never post on this site because I'm not from the area and would have very little to contribute, but i enjoy reading all the reports to get me through the long Iowa winters. When i read Bill's response to the posting of the videos, i was shocked by his assault on you and was inspired to submit a post. Now I'm sure Bill will respond by saying he wasn't directly attacking you or your reports, but the rest of us on the site who have non-biased opinions will agree with me, this was attack on your character. I think Bill's post showed very little class, especially considering both your report and Pete's report said the same thing. I encourage all who post to keep on posting the reports and videos; the silent majority loves to read them and we don't past judgement on you like others do.

My wife offered me the same deal after she received a bonus for work. I would suggest if you are going to spend that sort of money, go light weight. The two reels I would suggest are the Shimano Stradic CI4 and the Pflueger Patriarch. Both are light as a feather (7 oz) and cost $200. I got the CI4 and I think it is an awesome reel. As for a rod, I would suggest a Shimano Crucial or Cumara. Both are super sensitive and have life time warranty. I got the Cumara and accidently broke the tip off. I sent the rod to Shimano and within a week I had a new rod at my doorstep. Another good company to buy a rod from is St. Croix. Make sure you consider their lifetime warranty rods because they are great at honoring their warranties too. If you are spending that kind of money, its nice to know you will have the rod for a very long time.

Does anybody on this forum have experience downloading the MDC structure waypoints from the top of the forum onto a humminbird unit. I consider myself somewhat knowledgable with this sort of thing, but I just can't get the waypoints into humminbird PC. I have downloaded .gpx file to my computer, but it seems to be in a lowrance and garmin format. I have tried ever way I can think of to get it to work, but I have had no success. I figure since the bite on the lake right now sucks right now, maybe somebody might be able to help me.

Using my buddies boat when I come down in October. I plan on removing the prop and just dropping it off until it is done. I come down to tablerock a bunch in late fall, winter and early spring because the only fishing happening here is ice fishing. Thanks for the advice.

I need some help finding a good prop repair man. While loading my boat on tablerock a couple of weeks back, I hit a rock and slightly bent 2 blades of my stainless steel prop and have nicks and scratches on all three blades. I live in Iowa and local boat shop stated most props cost $160 if they don't need welding. I thought this was ridiculous and now plan on bringing my prop down with me to tablerock at the end of October to see if I can save a little money. Any suggestions on where to take it would be greatly appreciated. Also, I was wondering what kind of hours the shops are open because I want to do some fishing while down there. I need to know when to pull off the water so that I can get my prop to them. Thanks again.

I acciedently broke a shimano rod and sent it back with a letter saying it broke while trying to pull my lure from a snag. They replced it at no cost to me. All I had to do is pay for postage. It only took them 2 weeks to get me a new pole. Tfsh, I enjoy your reports and pics (I also fish the indian point area alot), I hope this does not keep you from posting in the future. I live in Iowa and the ponds near my house are beginning to freeze for the winter, so those reports and pictures help me get through my cold winters of no fishing.

Looks to me that commercial dock owners have the right to patrol and protect the area around their docks, but only people with federal jurisdiction would be able to enforce the regulation. According to the article, the water patrol does not have jurisdiction to enforce this regulation. Thanks for the advice from all of you. I had decided to hire a guide, but all the guides I called are booked, some until late October. I still plan on going Tuesday or Wednesday and maybe I will get lucky and figure out the fish. If I don't catch one, I will still enjoy it. Fly fishing is new to me and I am just excited I get to try it again. I am from Iowa and we don't have many, if any, trout streams around my part of the state.

I'm coming down to TR monday and fishing in the winter bass series with a buddy next Saturday. While down there, I want to try to do some fly fishing on Taneycomo for a day or two. I am new to fly fishing and have only been on one fly fishing trip (yellowstone, and it was awesome!). Would it be worth it to hire a guide or is Taneycomo an easy lake to pattern for a novice? I am leaning towards hiring a guide, but if you all think should be able to get on a fish or two without a guide, I will reconsider. I also want to mention I am catch and release angler and will not be keeping any of my catch.

I was real tired when I posted last night. It looks like I will be going with the Sage Ross combo. My gut had been telling me all along to get those two, but it was nice to hear it from you all.
