  3. I have been out the last three weeks fishing from 6 till about 130 or so. On friday or saturday nights. I have heard of guys catching lots of short fish. I have been concentrating on points and docks on the main lake. I have caught nice fish each time. I had 2 keepers 1st week, next week 2 nicer keepers 19" this week 1 nice 18-19" keeper. Do I need to move more and hit more points, dock fishing has been a bust for me and my fishing buddy. Are the fish really that scattered. or am I not in the right spots???? Thanks TR

  5. My approach was simular to Jason's except deeper 12-25ft counting down spinnerbait then a slow steady retreive. He is right about them hammering it. Blue black 3/8 oz with black twin tail trailer. had 2 short strike it, will add stinger hook next week. Point and wind was the key for us. TR
  6. Jason I tried your tip about the spinnerbait, and it worked out good. Those small mouth are mean and aggressive. Thanks Timmy TR
  7. Went out of Long Creek Saturday night around 6 till 10:30. Fished main lake point and flats. 86 degree to 88 degree water from 12-65 ft pea gravel to chunk, Found 2 keepers one on jig other on spinnerbait. 1 lm 1 sm. But the Smallmouth fought like he weighted 50 lbs ripped drag bent rod in two was a blast to catch. Only 16" though.

  14. Champ She may not kill you but she may hit you in the back of the head with a heavy jig or spoon completely by accident of course??? I remember fishing with my dad in a 14 1/2 boat and when he hit me on a back cast it was always my fault. So remeber to duck quick after comments like that.

  16. Rodney, Bummer on the breakdown. Broke the main steering rack on my Ranger last week, but got parts ordered in time for weekend to fish if they arrive on time and can get it installed. Hate to have breaks this time of year. I guess we have to sacrifice, you know the theroy about dollars spent on boat per hour of fishing time we are always in the hole. TR B O A T Bring on Another Thousand Hole in the water to throw money at.
  17. Edwin, I see two really great thing going on here, A wonderful afternoon with memories you or your kids will never forget. And another is the lifevests. Thanks for sharing the love of the outdoors with the next generation. That is the only way to ensure we have lakes to fish and fish to catch. My father told me a little piece of advice for when I had kids of my own. He said, Son if you dont spend time with your kids someone will and who do you want influencing their choices.TR

  21. We fished the long creek area saturday. Found from 53-58 water. We worked really hard from 730 to 330 to get a limit of keepers. We fished the grub and wiggle wart, I tried a blade and a jig. My fishing partner and I caught 6 or 7 whites lost track. We caught a lot of shorts to get our limit ended day with 6 keepers total. We fished the main lake area and went down as far the island. Lots of traffic. Had a great day on the water. My partner was a rookie to bass fishing, only the 3rd time he bass fished. It was a fun watching him get excited even when I caught a fish. I think I have created a monster. Thanks to all the guys with reports and for their help. Smoke colored grub, red wiggle warts
  22. Captain Don thanks for your help thus far. I have the manual for HUmminbird pc and am trying to learn it. 23. I did when I first installed it, The metal tab that holds the wires needed a little massage to hold the power and gpa antenna wire more frimly into the quick mount bracket. Bent the tab a little reinstalled and have been bouncing around with no issues ever since. TR Timmy
  24. Hey just to let you know from a guy who has had a boat stolen, tounge locks are not enought. I used one that goes threw and locks the latch down. They cut it and took my boat in broad daylight. You have to slow them down use the type that goes up in the ball mount then lock the latch also. I have also put washers on the latch lock so you cannot get a bolt cutter in the shaft area. I also spent the extra money on a cable type lock that if I am staying in a motel overnight I run it threw the axle and around the trailer. Just to slow the thieves down. We cannot stop them but you have to make yourself a harder target. I feel for you stolen boat no fun at all.
  25. I have a 787 Humminbird with external GPS. I was trying to load the gps waypionts from the MDC Table Rock structure map. I guess I dont know what I am doing. I bought a sdm card and a flash drive and down loaded the file but I must have done something wrong. Can anyone help with this task? Thanks In advance. TR Timmy
