  1. I use copolymer on casting gear, CXX "8lb" is one I like a lot. My spinning gear is all braid though, 15/4 PP. I generally run an 8lb Red Label leader tied with a Triple Surgeons knot. I don't have confidence fishing braid without a leader for anything.
  2. Hell of a nice fish!
  3. Traded to a buddy locally. Thanks!
  4. Awesome Ken, thanks for the update.
  5. Ronnie, where can a man pick some of those up? Do you know if there's anywhere in KC?
  6. I have found a spinning setup is easier for me to walk one.
  7. Sold locally!
  8. My 9 year old caught a piggy of a largemouth yesterday. It may have gone 20... Rick, Terrierman, thanks again!
  9. I have found that my preferred rod is in the 5'6" M range for creeks. I have two rods in that range now, a Cherrywood HD that is stiffer, not bad for heavier stuff, and an OLD Lightning Rod that I like how it tosses 1/4oz baits a lot with the Revo S on it. Try a few different things out and see what you like.
  10. Thanks
  11. Well done Mitch, looks like a big, healthy girl and a tired momma. Some Imo's is in order it would seem.
  12. Ronnie, should you decide to part, let me know ple ase
  13. I can generally find users for $100 or so...1500c is even rarer. I'll buy them rough and rebuild, but even those are $80...
  14. Thanks dprice, but these reels are 30 years or so old and not often for sale.
  15. Nice fish. I figured you'd fish your flukes on spinning gear, but I was wrong.
  16. Nice fish Brian!
  17. Yessir, 8" long and swatted at a Red Eye Shad.
  18. I'm sitting at largemouth bass, white crappie, white bass, wiper and gizzard shad.
  19. Tim, I like that a lot.
  20. Hey all, I'm looking to acquire an Ambassadeur 2500C for my creek rod. Wear isn't an issue as long as it operates well. I would prefer to trade, but if the price is right a purchase would suffice. I have taken to the round reels on my larger tackle, using two 4600 size Royal Express for bass in lakes up here. Let me know please.
  21. Hog Wally, that is a true beast!
  22. I may have to give them a shot on the rivers. I think they'd work along the weedbeds and through wood structure.
  23. Moguy, any suggestions on a jet motor for say a 1436 or a 1648 jon? How small is too small? Is a 25/40 acceptable or should one go larger?
  24. Murv, it's not hard. You simply fish quick flowing water with a soft craw. It just works.
