  1. Nice fish Cornie...
  2. Grab some Rebel Crawdad crank baits, and soft plastic craws with 1/8oz jighead. You will catch all the brownies you want if you present it in the right spot.

    Elk Report

Did you texas rig the lizard or toss it on a jighead?
  4. Gavin, I agree with almost everything here, but I fixed the portion I didn't agree with...Well done sir.
  5. Why should CLEAN power be phased out? I guess you prefer coal power. Trust me, the Nebraska City OPPD plant is facing flooding as of Wednesday and it is only going to get worse. My coworkers are up there to fill sandbags and what not to keep as much water out of the railyard as we can and minimize our rebuilding work when the waters recede. If you believe nuclear power should cease to function, maybe you can begin rationing electricity in a way where people don't have to change their way of life. Oh, that's right, we are already at peak capacity.
  6. Wrong. In no way in the Coosa the ONLY purpose built river fishing yak. Every kayak manufacturer makes Angler models, which are specifically built for fishing. If you are dead set on a popular, name brand, mainstream fishing kayak check into a Native Ultimate Angler 12. If it is for solo fishing endeavors, I would grab an Old Town 119 canoe rather than a kayak, but that is just me. You can carry more with you if you so choose in a canoe. You can also
  7. Do you really want to play "What If?" We can try to make connections to Japan if we want to, or we can realize that the flooding water is not going to impact this OPPD plant with anywhere near the force of an earthquake induced tsunami. The plant was built in a flood plain, and has seen flood waters before. 1993 was as big as this is likely going to be and levees were improved following that catastrophe. I think it is safe to say that these nuclear engineers at this particular plant know a little more about it than some armchair nuclear speculator in Arkansas.
  8. It is already shut down, with power to the cooling system.
  9. Oh no, I have co-workers in Nebraska City's OPPD plant working to protect the railyard from the flood. Well, I can tell you there is NO nuclear emergency up there as we speak. There is nothing out of the ordinary. Keep your tin foil hats folded up people and wait until someone comes forward and says something legitimate rather than trying to stir up more nuclear fear. Statistically, nuclear power is many, many times safer than coal power, hydroelectricity or any other type of established electrical power producing method.
  10. I have to say that I cannot rank a state that is 90% hatchery supported in the top ten even. Montana is all wild fish as Al said. Colorado has true blue ribbon water and native Cutties. Arizona has native, rare trout (Gila and Apache). The east coast has native brookies. My picks would have to go in this order Oregon, California, Tennessee, Colorado, Montana, Wyoming. I value catching fish in the waters they belong in more than size.
  11. The Little Niangua is a favorite of mine. The upper section is prime wading water, but you are right, in many places you cross over or through extremely shallow water. The float from Cedar Camp downstream has great water to fish and float.
  12. Wow all, you are going to break me. So many quality baits, so little time.
  13. Like it says, what are your favorite crankbaits for stream bass, what colors (if you feel comfortable divulging that much information) and why? I am curious what else everyone throws. I will start it out. I like the Rebel Wee Craw in a D77 size for my light spinning rod in ditch craw and stream craw colors. I also favor a silver F5 or F7 Rapala in silver. I ask this question because I am looking to expand my lure selection to some heavier stuff like Wiggle Warts and the like. I was curious what colors everyone liked in crankbaits, along with specific baits for different actions, profiles, etc. Thanks guys!
  14. Interesting you should say this. I have caught my largest handful of bass all on 1/16 Rooster Tails. Panther Martins are probably my favorite, I just wish they were readily available with a dressed hook. Anywho, enjoy your float as I sit envious.
  15. Found one guys, thanks a million!
  16. Isn't this part of a free market economy? Just had to stir the pot you guys. Carry on.
  17. That's what everyone says, but dang it, I hate the sticker pricing on the Shimanos. I have a hard time dropping a Ben Franklin on a reel.
  18. You make a good point, but I prefer to reel with my right hand on casting gear. I would be extremely open to an Abu Garcia 4500 or 4600 if the price is right.
  19. I am decidedly right handed, but thanks for the offer. When I do ANYTHING left handed, I look ridiculous. Eric, are you sure it would be you giving me the whoopin'? I am sure you have a few years on me...pounds too probably.
  20. I will continue to watch eBay. Eric, they seem to want a cage match...
  21. There is not a dang thing wrong with a Rooster Tail or a Rebel Wee Craw. They both just flat out catch fish!
  22. Oh heck, he and I are fine. He was offering suggestions for me, which I appreciate.
  23. I prefer buying from someone I know, as they would generally avoid screwing the purchaser, whereas on ebay, people have no conscience.
  24. I am looking to pickup a used Ambassadeur Mag or something similar. I wouldn't be against a used, early low profile style reel either. I am getting a BC rod really soon, and don't want to pick up a new reel for the cost of them. I might be able to offer a trade or purchase, but let me know what you might have that you would be interested in unloading. Thanks!
  25. Mitch, that is priceless.
