  1. surprised this has no replies till now. So since no signs or fences to indicate that im trespassing i need to carry my gps just to make sure i don't get shot? just my 2 cents.
  2. going back to the start of this thread. Where does the private land start below the city park? My opinion the city park ends by the ball fields where the grass turns to weeds and brush. So the line where private land starts is very unclear. Maybe if there was a sign indicating the boundary people would be less likely to trespass.
  3. no thats a private listing, i should have retitled my link. If that was mine i wouldn't sell it. And yes its a 3 weight. Look to be a first gen superfine rod.
  4. My link pretty sweet rod
  5. i agree completely. It would be different if you were walking across a field to fish a pond. But a creek thats flows with public land connecting on both sides is not trespassing in my opinion.
  6. just my opinion but i don't think anyone fishing in the creek will get shot at or arrested. If the land owner has such problem with trespassing like indicated in the third post he would probably put some kind of sign or fence across the creek.
  7. going back to the first page on this thread. Who does own the land between the dairy farm and the city park? And on the case of trespassing how many fishermen on this forum have walked down the railroad tracks beside the city park to get to their fishing hole. We all know or should know that is considered trespassing, but most still do it.
  8. the whole creek fishes good if the water is higher and off color. you can still catch fish if you know where they are. be stealthy and fish upstream or walk down and fish up.they will spook easy this time of the year.
  9. there was also a game warden that came later. Game warden told me i was ok to fish the creek as long as i stayed in the water and wasn't wondering around on the land. Not worth getting into a fight or shot by a landowner but the landowners need to know the law just like fishermen.
  10. i had a landowner call a sheriff while wade fishing little sugar creek. Assuming that i wasn't breaking the law since i entered the water via low water bridge i wasn't worried about trespassing. Landowner pulled up on a four wheeler and said he called the sheriff to have me arrested.Five minutes later the sheriff pulled up and called both of us to his truck. After checking my fishing license the sheriff asked what the problem was.The landowner told the sheriff that i was trespassing. The sheriff simply asked me where i entered the water and told the landowner and i that i was legal to fish the water as long as i enter via public property.Little sugar is classified as a non navigable stream as is Crane creek. So what is the law for Crane creek?
  11. Not knowing that i was trespassing, i have fished the hole upstream of the dairy farm a few times with no problem what so ever. I'm not saying that its ok to trespass. I now recall a barbed wire fence on the east side of the creek just before the last hole before the dairy farm.
  12. you will know when the land becomes private.the river makes a y and the dairy farm begins.i fished that area today and it fished good.look out for snakes on land and in the water.
  13. have you seen any snakes?
  14. I've caught a few 3-4 pound smallies and a largemouth over 6 pounds. I see big fish everytime I go.
  15. nice fish
  16. i fished and floated from lanagan city park to mt shira on the elk river last weekend. The fishing was good on indian creek with spinner baits and plastic lizards. we caught some smallies on clouser minnows with the fly rods. The only problem we had was a tree across the river below the city park. we took the left side of the river and navigated through the tree limbs. the next float i want to do is from anderson to the city park.
  17. does anyone know the river mileage from Lanagan city park to Mt shira? thanks
  18. you can safely float kings river at 5 to 6 feet on the berryville river gauge. no fishing but pretty good floating. should be good next weekend.
  19. I own a Lamson radius, Ross rhythm, Cabelas sla, Allen alpha and some others. The Allen gets used more than the others mainly because its on my six weight. The Ross is awesome but pricey, Lamson was a waste of money and the Cabelas sla is on my trout rod. For the price the Allen reel is hard to beat. Mine has been laid down in sand, caked with salt from the gulf and has yet to fail me. Just my opinion they are hard to beat for the money. And all the negative comments and reviews are from people that have never laid hands on an Allen reel.
  20. take apart an Allen reel and a $15 Cortland. You will notice the quality of the Allen and the cheapness of the Cortland. $90 for a quality large arbor reel with sealed bearings and drag with anodizing is a steal.
  21. I bought one of their reels for my 7wt. last year for smallmouth. The reels are as tough as any out there. I've fished mine very hard including one trip for Florida catching 12-15 pound black drum. NO problems yet. They price them so cheap because thats what they have in them.Abel and Tibor reels are nice but at $700-$1000 no way.How does time and material add up to that much money.
  22. don't forget this fish
  23. there were some fish above 45 bridge about a quarter mile up on Richland creek Sunday
  24. anyone know the condition of the river? and what it might be like this weekend?
  25. where did you put in and take out?
