  1. Welcome to the board! I did my very first fly fishing trip in Colorado on the Arkansas. A great place! My wife surprised me with a trip out of Sadalia (spelling?) for the day. I keep reminding her of that when I go to the fly shops . . . "you started this honey." You'll enjoy this board, there's a lot of good people on here with some good information. Tight lines and hope to see ya on the water some day. John

  3. I tell people all the time that I have picked up several dead driver's and passengers from the roads and ditches, but I've never cut one out of a seatbelt! They DO save lives. I'm sure there are circumstances that the seatbelt could cause more damage than not wearing one, I've just never run across it in my 12+ years of EMS service! John
  4. Welcome to the board David. I have family that live in NLR out by the Army Camp. John
  5. I've never been myself but have wanted to for some time. If work cooperates I might be up to a trip and we can learn the stream together. Or, I can see about bring some of those "adult beverages" and maybe Ollie will join us. Let me know when you're thinking of going over and I'll check my schedule at work. John
  6. Welcome to the forum. I am normally a winter person, but this year's got on my nerves. I'm ready for the warmer weather myself. Hope it comes soon. John
  7. Thanks for the pictures. I've been wanting to check Capps out, now I know I'll make a trip. The scenery looks to be as good as any. Thanks again for posting. John
  8. Jody, you're welcome to join the next swap. Watch the board and sign up when one comes around. John
  9. Good lookin fly! I'd be interested to see how it fishes. I bet it's a good for the shad kill. I know I'm a fisherman and it got me, but if I was a fish, I think I'd have to take a look at it. John
  10. Dan, I did a search on eBay and found some Wheatley boxes. Check this out and see if any are what you are looking for. John
  11. What kind ya look'n for Dan? I've got a couple of the System X style boxes I don't use much. John
  12. Nice fish Tim! Looks like it was down in the fly only zone? John
  13. Welcome aboard! Look forward to hearing about your home waters. I can see that my list of "want to fish these" streams is going to grow some more. John
  14. You can beat Dr. Slicks! I have two pair and they keep their edge. I'm also fortunate enough to have "relocated" a couple of medical scissors that do a great job as well. John
  15. Welcome to the board coyote! Sorry I can't help you with the Walleye questions, but I'm sure there is at least one on here that can. Stay safe! John
  16. This has been tried a couple of times here in S.E. Kansas and so far we have been able to defeat it with the very examples Dano mentions in his post. It works and I suggest starting now. John
  17. Leonard, no SJ worm on this one, but there was one cruising the pool above this one that had a tan SJ worm on it's back near the dorsal fin. John
  18. Sorry I missed you Mr. Ducky. Glad to see everyone is home and safe. It was a cold day for sure and the fishing was difficult, but it is always a good day when you spend time on the stream with friends. Nice to finally meet you Steve, Ronnie, and jOrOb. Always good to see you Dano. I'm already looking forward to the next one. Now I have to email my son and rub it in that I landed HIS big fish! Naw, I'm going to call him with this one. John
  19. I agree with everyone else. I enjoy ALL aspects of this forum; the information and the chuckles! John
  20. Put me down for two of the rust (orange) color ones. I'll get a check in the mail tomorrow. John

  22. Interesting! I may have to give this a try this summer. Sounds like a lot of fun. John
  23. Great talking with you today Michael. I'm glad to see that your adding the tying supplies to the website. That was going to be my only suggestion. Like the others have said, it's easy to navigate and use. And by the way, Terry can't have my rod. I'll be by to pick it up on the 16th. John
  24. I'll be there, as long as work doesn't interfere, sometime around 10:30. I won't get off work until 8:00 and then it's about a 2 1/2 hour drive. John
  25. Okay Leonard! I guess I'm cooking poppers for ya What a good game. I sure thought it was going to go the other way there for a moment though. I am glad to see Manning win though. Was a bit disappointed in the commercials. John
