Don't forget to let the majority of water drain off your trailer back in the lake and not all the way up to the parking. If you don't the next guy launching may have to surgically remove a seat cover
It was tough today only managed 3 keeper crappie and 5 shorts. You would get just one per brush pile and you needed to move......I didn't move enough. Water was 67 and coffee colored had an odd look to it I guess it was the rain. First time for my coveralls this fall it was cool in the wind.
Had good luck today in the Cedar Ridge area, crappie were in the brush piles 15' to 20' caught most on chartreuse and a few on white an silver sparkle.
Water was 67 when I got there forgot to look when I left.
They have a gate at the Cedar Ridge ramp they close when the water is low. I'm sure it would have been closed if they cared. From what I understand it's the campgrounds their concerned with.
Marty that sucks
They had a barricade blocking half the road before you turn to the Cedar Ridge launch also. I was worried they had the gates locked at the ramp but they were open....... unlike the government so I went fishing.
Went crappie fishing caught 8 keepers kept 5 before the lightning chased me off. 20% chance of rain has turned in an all day affair.
Anyway I was fishing in 15' foot of water using a jig an minnow tried 4 places caught fish at 2 of them.
Dutch I bought #1 sickle hooks and bent them with needle nose into slow death style. The shank is thick enough that they don't break. When I do get hung up which is often I usually loose BB and rig when it's stuck good. All that depends on the strength and kind of the hook.
This is old but went eye fishing last Saturday caught 3 keepers lost another at that boat some shorts, bass, drum, ect. Biggest eye 16" all on worms in 15' of water most halfway back in one cove.....good luck
I went last Thursday and caught them off points 18' to 20' on slow death rigs. It's been hit and miss for me the time before that all I caught was shorts, bass, drum.
I would say the depths you are targeting will get you some......good luck.
The Fast an Friendly just west of Caseys at 65 an 14 gives away a free bag of ice with a fill up with a boat hooked on back not much but still a little something. They have ethanol free premium also. I filled up yesterday an they were still $3.49 for regular unleaded.
Thanks for the reply, I have a 4S I hope it and the boat are the last I'll need......no issues yet with about 290hrs.
I do maintain my own stuff but nothing more than the book calls for. Is the gas issue common for just one brand or a bugaboo in all?
Knock on wood that doesn't become a problem but I appreciate the info.
So spill it whats the issue.....I've heard of some making oil I think that's what it's called if you troll alot with it but I've also heard of 1000hrs motors with no issues other than regular maintenance.
I was out today also, I fished south of where you were. I caught mine on crawler harness an slow death about the same depth. My biggest was about 17.5 no crappie.
