  1. How are the boat launches? Does anyone think they'll be useable this Friday it's suppose to be 36......warm enough to play.
  2. Have a safe and happy Christmas
  3. It was slow yesterday the fish were right on the bottom. I caught fish in brush piles from 18' to 40' You would catch a few then they would quit. I kept moving to different brush piles and ended up with 9 keeper crappie, minnow or jig it did not matter a few bites and they would stop.
  4. Water was 44 when I got there and 45 when I left. Not many boats but I bet it picks up this weekend with warmer weather moving in. The crappie I caught were 40' to 45' the bite was slow but the fish I caught were all keepers. Jig with a minnow did best.
  5. Fished today until 1:00, water at Old State Park was 50 when I left, up by the dam earlier it was 48. A few nice days make a difference. I'm sure it will drop again after this weekend. Fish wise I came home with 10 crappie and 1 walleye.
  6. Went yesterday the water was glass calm in the morning could not buy a bite. The afternoon salvaged it I ended up with 5 crappie and 2 walleye on minnows and jigs around State Park. Water temp has really dropped since last week 43 to 45 on graph. I hope it doesn't freeze over this winter.
  7. Zac I tried the points last week, marked fish between 20' and 30' but couldn't get them to bite. I used worms and tried a few crankbaits. I gave up and went to crappie fishing. I haven't been to the flats in a long while might be worth a shot??? Not much help maybe someone else will chime in.
  8. I went yesterday also, walleye fishing to start that was a bust so I ended up the day crappie fishing. Took home 6 keepers didn't catch the numbers you had, only 1 short. I caught mine 28' to 30' on jig and a minnow by state park.
  9. Did better today than last week, caught 4 keeper wally's and lost a nice one at the boat. Also picked up 5 crappie. Everything was caught pulling worms except 1 crappie and 1 walleye were caught on a wally diver crankbait. I stayed north of mile long bridge. The lake was pretty empty today I guess everybody is in the deer woods.
  10. I guessed it passed the new normal power pool will be 659' just wondering what other people thought about it? I for one wish I knew they had a comment period. I read rumors about it on this fourm but I thought thats all it was. I can see some good things more fish habitat, drinking water for Diamond City area. But, myself and others on the Mo. side launch our boats off of the dead end roads that stop at the lake Bright Elbow,Yocum Creek, and Wolf Creek road to name a few. My truck gets better mpg's than my boat so launching at Forsyth or K dock and driving all the way to Shoal Creek or Buck Creek by water seems counter productive when we are trying to use less fuel. Are they going to improve those areas I mentioned above or any others, does anybody know? With the higher PP the dock owners and people who launch are going to collide. Its a problem now with the way they flood it every spring. The dock owners are in the trees in high water and the only open areas are the roads and that will only get worse with the new normal PP. I haven't even mentioned Forsyth's issues. I'm hoping they will improve some of those areas just bulldoze some trees and big rocks so there will be parking and room for everybody during high water. I have ranted now it's somebody else's turn or not.
  11. Went walleye fishing, all I caught was 5 shorts, switched to crappie fishing and caught 6 keepers and 1 keeper eye should have crappie fished all day. Caught 3 crappie around the dam area and the rest off of a brush pile around point 5. Talked to a guy at the ramp he caught 9 crappie, fishing the bridges in big sac arm.
  12. Went walleye fishing caught 6.....3 of those were keepers. Also caught 3 bonus crappie it was slow. Everything was caught 25 to 30 feet pulling worms.
  13. I was BB spinner rigs with a slow death hook, sometimes they would hit a regular double hook harness better so I would try both and see what they want.
  14. Went walleye fishing Tuesday only managed 1 keeper and 7 crappie all caught on worms. Today was a lot better 4 keepers and 6 crappie on worms again. I stayed north of mile long bridge and fished to the dam. I spoke to a couple at the ramp and they did real well on crappie but they didn't say where
  15. Fished south of bridge myself today it was slower than last week but managed a few keepers pulling spinner rigs. Not many people out and boats were holding tight. Sail boats were moving around though.
  16. Went walleye fishin today caught a lot of shorts but ended up with 3 keepers and some crappie. Off points dragging worms. Seen a first for me a carp breaking the surface I guess chasing shad I'll bet it weighed 10 pounds.
  17. Fished the flats in Big Sac today one short and some real nice bluegills. Went to the points, caught a bunch of small wally's no keepers.
  18. Sorry to hear about your mother in law the same thing got my Dad. On another note the walleye report is dead on. Today I culled a lot of little ones to get at the keepers.
  19. The Mutton Creek area, fishing between 16' to 24' deep
  20. Points.............Went this morning and caught a limit. First time I've done that. Trying to learn how to catch them, I got lucky.
  21. Fished for walleyes Monday. Caught a bunch of 12 to 13"ers. One keeper lots of bluegill and as always one channel cat. If the small wally forget they got hooked, they'll make good fryers next year.
  22. I thought PETA stood for..................People Eating Tasty Animals.................
  23. Went around Point 2 area caught a channel, bunch a bluegill, and one keeper walleye and I lost a nice one by the boat. Used worms on bottom bouncers. Long as there was a breeze it wasn't to bad, left at 3:00.
  24. Corps fixed the High Point dock, and now they resurfaced the parking lot at Cedar Ridge. Think they are angling for a fee increase next year?
  25. Need help, Can you download MDC brushpile lat-longs off their website to a SD card and then transfer to a Hummingbird 788ci? I downloaded to SD card and could not get anything to work. Maybe you can't do this?
