  1. I decided to take my dad on a float. This was our first time in a canoe. Let me tell you if you have never been in a canoe before i would not suggest fishing at the same time. The day started early around 8 am we launched canoe out of Lime Kilm Access everything was going great till about 10 min into this float and there we go right into the water thankfully it was in a shallow area where we could wade back to shore and sit back and laugh for a few minutes. So we dumped they water out and regrouped and had a new plan of attack, not sure what it was but all we needed to do is catch some fish and stay dry. My dad ended up with 1 small mouth and a 2-3lb large mouth, me only 1 small mouth. So we thought we had the hang of this that didnt work out so well and there we go swimming again. I just have to last week i went on this same float with Chief Grey Bear, Buzz and KCRiverRat and they made it look so easy how they handled there canoe now i know why Chief let me use his jon boat instead of canoe. This was a great time with my dad who is visiting from southern illinios.... PRICELESS

  6. Hit up Hickory this am fished at park entrance and got 3 average size. Then fished down by hwy 60 with Chief Grey Bear there was alot of spooky fish in there no bites. went back up stream to a hand full of fisherman. There seemed to be alot of fish being caught as i was leaving
  7. Take hwy 71 south to neosho then take 86 left at off ramp. Turn left and go a couple of miles to the first stoplight( Harmony St.) and turn left. Go to the next stoplight and turn left again, that is W. Coler St. Follow Coler to the next stoplight and keep going straight. After about 4 blocks you will be able to see railroad tracks and the park directly ahead. As you get to the park you will come to a low water bridge, you can park in the parking lot on the right before the bridge or the lot on the left after the bridge. You can fish up and down the bank in both directions. BTW, as you pass over the R.R. tracks you will notice a white rock road going north and south. If you decide to fish the handicap pier at the North end of the creek, you should take the gravel road north, you will have to go through 1 stop sign and then the road will lead back to Bus. Hwy 60. Turn right on the paved hwy. and go about 3/10th's of a mile where you will see a parking lot on the right side of the road just before the bridge. You can park there and fish that area too. directions courtesy of Buzz

  9. There was a bass caught at lake dixon in escondido california that weighed in at 25lbs + but it was not lipped hooked. it was snagged at head area on a pig and jig. and then a year or so later the fish was found floating. I have also heard that there was a multi million dollar payout for who ever broke the 77 year old record that has since been cancelled since they found out about the monster bass at lake dixon her name was dottie.....
