I agree, if the other fish were weighed on non certified scales and or without an appropriate official to witness, I'd take their butts to court. On the other hand the guy made a poor decision by not going somewhere else with a certified scale. With 100K on the line I'd make darn sure I had all the t's crossed and I's dotted!

Stoneroller and MOsmallies; Do you guys have any ideas for a new piece of hardware for the kayak industry? I have access to all the technology to make it happen if you have any good ideas. Scott at one point wanted me to scan a kayak body to make a custom fit foam insert. I'm thinking of maybe a conformal " hard saddle bag" to hold lures, or a titanium or aluminum or even magnesium clevis? Anything can be made to order for your kayak model.

I guess the rivers I fish mainly are the Meramec and Gasconade but I agree with you that they will hit all day long. My darn arm just needs a "walk the dog" break.

It's funny, the quality control on the Lucky Craft lures is excellent, but some of the designs don't work so well. For instance, I've never liked the "live pointer" jerk bait with all the segments (see below). I know they are trying to make it more like a fluke, but it just doesn't catch fish for me (it's probably me) maybe there's a way to fish it that will kill the smallies though, but I don't know it. The same holds true for the shorter Sammy, doesn't glide at all. IMO, unless the rod is a high quality rod, it's a waste of time and money to replace the all the guides. Just buy a new rod that has guides matched to the rod. You can get a high quality rod under $75 if you look for bargains. Heck, you can get a decent rod for under $50 nowadays.

Nothing is set in stone, but I fish topwater all day long if the conditions are right. But on a normal day I put the topwater down around 10 am. Just curious what others do.

I'll second the "lube" comment. The surface finish on fluorocarbon is much rougher than nylon mono. The process of cinching will cause excessive heat build up and weaken the knot.
