Jig and pig along the rocks in winter is killer....especially in lakes it is to mossy in summer. Nice redear and bluegill fishing in many lakes....just gotta look around a bit.

Mom was with us. She took the pictures. No way I take them alone. One adult per child is my motto... and always within reach of the 2 year old. Found a nice shallow spot with no current so they could get there feet wet. Most of the stream I would never dream of taking them. 2 year old had a life jacket on most of the time. He was most interested in the playground and rock throwing so minimal time fishing.

My 4 year old caught this nice Bass on a horny toad a few weekends ago. Also took the kiddos out to Montauk for a quick trip to take advantage of the eight inchers. Not sure if you can see the expressions of my 2 year old, but the faces he makes cracks me up.

First time down during the week for me. Tuesday and wednesday. Gonna do that more often....lots of room to breath. Think some are still scared off, but really kudos to the park staff...they are working really hard.

Made it down for a few days. I like the changes, but it is quite different. Some very deep sections that will make wading impossible. Some new riffles which is great IMO. Lots of work left for park staff, but really incredible how much clean up has already been done. That was a pretty catostrophic event and debris still very visable. Tons of little guys in the spring branch....my kids had a blast catching those. Fish numbers in fly fishing area are low in the upper half, much better down stream. Did well in the river.

Looks like Jontay did in fact commit, but hasn't said if it for this year or next. We should make the tourney with this team, but they are all very young...so I am not yet sold on anything more than that until I see them play. Regardless, the turnaround is remarkable.

Yeah, that place is supossed to be incredible fishing. From what I remember reading it is very difficult to access and extremely windy. TI is not for the faint of hear, but the rainbows are giants.

Nice! Great job by her in getting that bass to bite. Sounds like she had a great time with the Bluegill as well.

She was ok with it, but like most a bit concerned. I actually tried to put him in one, but it wouldn't fit. I did pick up another one, because he would totally jump in. 4 year old is pretty self sufficient and a strong swimmer. I feel comfortable around the pond, but boats or docks he gets a life jacket too. Great story about your nephew, my boys accidentally rat me out too. The oldest is starting to learn some things are best kept between us guys.

Took my 4 year old and 2 year old fishing over the weekend. 4 year old is a seasoned vet. 2 year old wanted to retreive the "ball", known to adults as a bobber, from the water. I managed to not stroke out and he managed to catch his first fish. I love the look of amazement and excitement in pics. They want to go every night and I am happy to take them.

Tilmon committed today. We now have the 6th ranked recruiting class in the country. I almost feel bad for Kim Anderson...ok not really

4 star point guard Blake Harris commits to MU. If we get Kevin Knox..holy cow.
-
You're right Joe. Impossible not to get excited about the possibilities, but lots still needs to happen. This just feels different....so unlike MU of the last few years.
-
4-5 star center Jeremiah Tillmon from East St. Louis asked for release from his LOI to play for Illinois. Cuonzo Martin is from East St. Louis. I would say the odds are in our favor he winds up at Mizzou. 5 star Kevin Knox is set to visit April 8 and 9. That is a tougher sell, but hard not to think about the possibilities. Incredible. The Mizzou momentum is off the charts.

I think Odom will be fine, but the decision to change defense was a really bad choice. You gotta know your players better than that. We will be a gap D eventually, but it takes a different type of player that MU does not have yet.

The hiring of recruits parents as coaches happens a lot. See Manning example as noted above. Porter Sr was on staff at Washington . He is very well connected to AAU. He is probably more qualified than most, but clearly it is about his son. If a school wants to spend money....I don't care....they can only have so many coaches. It won't change...cause then if your parent was a coach you could never play for them. That wouldn"t be right either. It is a loophole, but it is perfectly within the rules.
-
mine too. Pretty darn excited.

From MU's twitter account...a few minutes later
-
It is official...
-
Nothing to investigate Joe. It is good. Enjoy the possibilities for once.
-
Yeah, i agree. Still holes even with the Porter's, and I like the hire regardless if they come our not. I think the younger Porter is currently listed as a top 25 recruit for 2018. If so he might be more important than the older one as far as building a program. Cuonzo is a great recruiter so I feel very good about his ability to recruit the talent needed.

Well it is Mizzou so history has me waiting for the other shoe to drop. They weren't coming for Anderson and they weren't going to leave Romar, but those two things have changed. Mizzou is certainly the favorite. Should be a very interesting two or three weeks for MU basketball.
-
It is possible if they can get a couple more guys along with the Porters. We see what comes together. At the very least it is more excitement than I have seen in 3 years.
-
Younger Porter is a real possibility to re-classify and play next year with his brother. He has the credits to graduate high school early should he choose to do so.
