  1. Fish the mineral fork frequently as Kingston is only about 20 minutes from me. It get's abused by the locals, but there are nice fish to be had and it is a pretty stretch. I have had issues at F so it is wise to take a buddy IMO. Preferably a large one.
  2. I have fished it several times. Plenty of Bass, Panfish, and I hear good Catfish. You really need a boat or canoe to fish it. the low horsepower limit is nice for canoeing or kayaking.
  3. The Stars are dangerous and they can score in bunches. However, their defense and goal tending is a bit suspect and not nearly as strong as the Hawks. We need to avoid getting in a shootout and if we can I like our chances.

That was super intense....what a series!! I was sweating and pacing the entire game. My wife could barely even watch.

Big game tonight, probably the biggest game I can remember for a long time. Win and shake the choke status. Lose and more of the same. Jobs are definitely on the line tonight. I wish I felt good about the outcome, but it is hard not be a bit pessimistic given the history. C'mon boys get it done!
  6. I have to agree with another poster that I much prefer Shad Assassin to a Fluke. They are bit heavier which I think helps. 4/0 and it works fine for me. There are a lot of 'fluke" like baits on the market. The actual fluke would probably be the last one I would choose to be honest. Love me some jigs as well swimming or not. I swim "regular" jigs as well. I even swim them over vegetation if needed. No wrong way to fish them at all, which his why I like it. You can make several presentations with one bait and they tend to be a big fish bait.

The Blues passed up a lot of shots for the extra pass. Backes touched on that a bit after the game. It is out of respect for the Hawks on the rush, but they over did it IMO. I thought we looked a bit tight to be honest. Lot of pressure on the Blues last night in probably a must win game. We will need to just play the same game we have been playing all year. Last night looked like the same strategy of old. Not sure if that is going to allow us to create enough scoring chances. .

The Blues of years past had to play there best to compete with the Kings and Hawks. This year they can beat the top teams without needing a perfect game. With all the injuries the team has had we are just now seeing what they can do. 14-3 since February 28th. Winning record against all the top teams in the West during this time and for the year. A coach who has loosened the reigns a bit and excellent goal tending. Win on the road against chicago tonight in a game they did not play great never win in years past. But they still managed to win. I am drinking the koolaid...they look ready...now they gotta prove it.

    lets go blues

Yep, it is all about the playoffs. The team seems to have let down against lesser competition this week. That can't happen with 10 game left. It sure would be nice to win the division and avoid the Stars and Blackhawks in the first round. The division is a beast 1-4 and then you have the Kings and Ducks.
  10. What a great fish! Well done.
  11. I remember the water looking really stagnant behind the soccer fields, but that was a long time ago. A quick glance at the park and lt is much different today. You gotta give it a shot!
  12. That is great fish...check those big ole bug eyes.
  13. Nice job and a couple nice bass too! Is that a Cars fishing pole? My 2 1/2 year old has one. He too likes the small fish better cause they are "babies" like his younger brother. Can't wait to get him out this year.
  14. Rabbit Run...I used to play soccer there about 25 years ago... if this is the same place I am thinking off. It used to flood a lot now that I think about it.
  15. I hope this guy get's busted. What a joke.
  16. It was stated at the preseason meeting at Bennett Springs. It was posted on Weavers fishing report.
  17. Share his facebook page? Maybe we can share it with the agents and see if they can do anything about it if he is keeping illegal fish. That is aggravating for sure.
  18. I made it down last Sunday and fished below the cable to Tan Vat. The stream has definitely changed a lot...I think eventually for the better. Still amazed my 15 foot deep hole from years ago is now a gravel bar though! Lot's of other changes as well. I think a lot of the fish were really hugging bottom, but I would have to agree, after seeing it, the rainbows seem a bit thin right now. Went up to view the park for a bit and it looked rather thin as well. There is now a huge, deep, long hole upstream from the dam in the fly fishing area. last year you could walk across it, but I bet it is at least 10-15 feet deep and seemed rather long. There is also a new mini Island upstream by the first parking spot. I am sure as the season goes on the rainbow population will slowly rebound. IT usually takes a hit in the winter time and the floods definitely seem to have affected them. With the 20% reduced stocking it is going to takes some time for the rainbows to rebound. More room for Brown Trout to grow in the interim...not a bad trade off. As for the fishing only caught a few and nothing special. Hooked a nice that I would have really liked to seen just based off the strike and weight, but he snapped off...that is what happens when you go several hours without a strike! Good to get out though...I haven't done much the last year with young kiddo's at home
  19. Glad it missed us in east central MO as well. 20 inches in some parts of Louisiana. Crazy
  20. I only made it down once this winter and the fishing was great, but when it is slow you would swear there are no fish in the river. Happened to me many times. The biggest fish i catch in that river have not been in obvious places. The nice thing about the current is you catch enought to keep coming back, but it is challenging enough you earn those bigger ones.
  21. The offense stats for Yadi are not that great overall, but he did have several years he was very good. I think his wrist is going to be an issue for him going forward...he looked really anemic at times last year. It is hard to say how that might affect his hall fame chances, but no doubt he is one of the best defensive catchers of all time. He is a tortoise on the base paths though...which drives me nuts when they bat him 5th our 6th.
  22. I am really looking forward to seeing Grichuk, Pham (super sub), Piscotty, Martinez, and Wacha mature. All a year older and huge upside. If Adams and or Moss rebound it could be another great year. Pitching and especially bullpen will be great again. Just need some more pop from the offense. It will be much more fun with the cubbies good again and the Cards always play better in the underdog role.
  23. Well Kim Anderson probably feels a bit more secure in his job today.....cause no one else is coming near this program. Haith pretty much killed it. And yes, coaches need to be held more accountable then they are.
  24. I followed the Rams, but 10 years of futility made it difficult. They were terrible and the owner hasn't spoken publicly in several years, but I am pissed at how this turned out. Yes, the lease was a joke and probably the worst lease ever signed in professional sports. It also came on the heels of losing out to Jacksonville in the expansion race because of inept leadership. Desperation played a factor, but leadership certainly failed. However, it doesn't indemnify Kroenke from nuking an entire city on his way out. The fact it was endorsed by the NFL is just unreal. Nor does is indemnify the NFL on a corrupt process that was nothing more than a charade I hope we go Cleveland and file lawsuit after lawsuit (they filed over 100 when the Browns left) and ultimetly forced the NFL back to the table. I don't even want a new team, but yeah I want revenge on and organization and owner that embarrassed and napalmed my city on their way out. The NFL made the NCAA look like Mother Theresa (ok that is a stretch, but you get my point). At the very least i would think a case for slander could be made rather easily. I found it interesting that Dean Spanos and Mark Davis left right after they spoke. Clearly they were not happy either and did not stick around. How could you promise $100 million to the Chargers and the Raiders, but not give the extra $100 to STL? Corruption and Collusion at it's best. i still would like to now how the LA Committee on Relocation could recommend Carson 5-1, but then a vote turns up 30-2 for Inglewood? Did Sepp Blatter sneak through the back door or something? I could go on and on, but you get the point.
