  1. Sweet looking flies!
  2. Yep, I agree
  3. Right. I am not defending FOX and whatever it is they are saying, and if they are saying it was somehow faked, then that would be pretty much nuts. However, MSNBC does the same types of things as Fox news to brings in its viewers. Bascially, MSNBC make wild claims that border on ridiculious as often as FOX news does.
  4. Both Fox News and MSNBC distort the truth to extreme levels to fit their politial agenda. Neither should be taken seriously.
  5. Sorry that photo has been doctored. My sources at the CIA report, at the time of death, Bin Landen was wearing a state issued Turbin gifted from the Pakistani Intelligence Agency with the letters ISI embroidered on the front.
  6. I have the trout taper on my 6 weight and I am kind of dissapointed in the way it turns over weighted streamer's etc. It could very well be me, my rod (my 6 is the cheapy I first bought) but I remember the first time I cast I thought...what the heck is this? I actually liked the Bass pro cheapy brand line that came with the rod better. However, I have no problems with turning over nymph rig's and it does make nice presentation with dries etc. Not sure it would be ideal for streamer's but a good rod and a good caster (which I am not) could probably make it work. As to the original topic TFO pro with the reel you have and some new line would be a nice upgrade. The Echo Carbon has nice feel to it as well.
  7. I signed and would still sign. To be honest after watching the video I didn't really see anything that was too harsh on either side. Doesn't mean other words weren't exchanged by both parties or stuff didn't happen, but I guess I expected more confortantion and a more tense scene than the small piece we saw. I realize this wasn't the whole story either. As far as the "if it makes you feel like a big man." I hear much worse at work of all places on a daily basis. Not a big deal IMO at all. Nicer than I would be if harrassed multiple times. In cases like these, whether fair or not, fisherman floating streams through populated areas are going to pay the price for those that abused the rights that went before them. It is not right, it is not fair, but it is reality. I think Chief's escapade at the very least raised awareness in the area that this shouldn't happen. There is an entire forum that is aware of harrasment on shoal creek. Public pressure can go a long way. If this becomes habitual something will eventually have to be done and all the floaters on Shoal creek can float in peace. Instead of saying Chief didn't get anthing out of it in the immediate term (although I think he did) think of what he and others may get out of it in the long term. Especially, if this is habitual. It has to start somewhere ya know.
  8. What an ugly game last night for the Cards...kinda surprised they were even in it at the end, but very frustrated with another late inning loss. Yadi's error was a killer. Anyone else think Pujol's contract situation is affecting his play? Looks to me like he is trying to justify asking for $300 million on each swing. Kind of ironic in away. He needs to get going though.
  9. Chris - yeah the yo-yo type weather has made fishing tough. I did see a lot of bass on nests so the Bluegill should follow shortly after. Gavin - Good luck with the kiddo's this weekend. Hope you guys have a great time.
  10. They treated us is pretty well. We caught some very very nice gills and a dozen or so smaller bass. The action was steady all day, but not quite light's out. The gills seemed to be a little picky, but eventually they would take. For the bass we had to strip very slowly and then they would take. Gills were caught underneath an indicator...no topwater Saturday. Overall, it was a good day but kind of an odd one too.
  11. Decided not to head down after all. Ended up chasing some Bluegill and Bass with a buddy of mine. Thinking maybe in a few weeks.
  12. Thanks for the input guys. Gonna be a before bedtime decision with lot's of gauge watching this evening. Wish I could see the water from work.
  13. Haha. Didn't mean to get ya riled up! I would have thought his winning percentage would be higher than it is. He is controversial know doubt about that. He needs to stop the undying loyalty to aging veterans. Berkmann is raking right now.
  14. Think the water will be to high? I can't take it anymore and need to fish. Looks like the gauge is at 2.9 FT in the park at 491 CFS and 4.47 at Akers. I don't mind the high water, but don't like muddy water.
  15. Larussa makes me scratch my head at times too howver he does seem to win a lot of games. I hate it when he bats the pitcher 8th! I wonder if we could retain Duncan when Larussa leaves. My guess is Duncan goes too. I would be good with Oquendo taking over as well. Very possible next year we have no Larussa, Duncan, or Pujols. I too hope the Current is fishable soon...everytime I have had some free time to go down it has either been snowing or flooding. Almost as frustrating as watching Franklin closing.
  16. Yep, I agree Franklin needs to go. You could kind of seeing this coming at some point. Unless he is almost perfect he get's hammered. It worked for awhile, but it is time to find someone who has shutdown material. We have lost 5 games in the last at bat already...we can't keep giving games away like that! So frustrating to watch.
  17. I have an RLS and it works great. I wouldn't hesistate to recommend it. There are bunch of pretty decent reels in that price range.
  18. I think they will be alright in the end, but the reds are a pretty good team and have a few injuries themselves. The closer situation is disturbing...they almost blew a 6 run lead tonight. Starting pitching is good, offense has been great since the first week, and the bullpen is questionable. They have a lot of young arms and I think they will be better as the year goes on. To bad the Cardinals didn't trade Motte for Derosa a few years ago...they elected to send Perez...who is doing very well and closing. Tough call at the time though, but Motte was billed as a closer and hasn't developed into one...yet. Bogg's could be that guy too, but we need one of them to step up soon. McClellan has been great as a starter and Garcia has been lights out the last 1 1/2. To bad Wainwright isn't healthy!
  19. Sorry to hear that my dad passed suddenly two years ago at 58...way to young. I will never forget when he caught a 18 lb channel cat on a plastic worm. Thought he had the mother of all bass for a few seconds. I remember being a little guy and tugging on his pant leg...I wanted to try his new setup and this cool looking lure(later found out it was a jitterburg). He finally relented and let me try...sure enough I caught 3lb bass on the first cast. The look on his face was priceless. We joked about that every time we fished. You just never know so get the dad's on the water if you can.
  20. Prayers for sent fo those dealing with the high water.
  21. Good to hear! Glad your friend got the rod back.
  22. Both parties suck IMO.
  23. Very cool. Hope the rain stays away for the rest of your trip. Enjoy the meal!
  24. Glad to hear this all worked out chief. Well done.
  25. Looks like you guys had a great time. Thanks for posting the pics.
