I really think the economy of the white river would be the same if there were no dams. Towns would fight for which stretch has the best smallmouth fishing. Think of the possibilities!!
The one thing I wish I had more than anything is a jet unit for my 25hp merc. It took us probably 25 minutes to creep up buffalo shoals yesterday with the 9.9.
great post Justin. That is how I feel. As much I would love to be able to float the entire white river with no dams in the way, I believe I would rather have a virtually limitless supply of clean energy.
I fished out of riley's 48" js boat today and I was very happy with the stability and overal fishing ability of the boat. It was not as maneuverable as my 18x36" aluminum but the amazing stability made up for it.
On the white there is so much area that a 48 would work great. However, I would go with a 42 for those times when the river is really low or if you want to go up creeks/rivers like buffalo. I have. 36" boat and its stable enough for me. But I fish much smaller rivers too.
Welcome to the forum. I too love the brakish waters of the texas gulf coast. I am looking forward to going down to seargeants new years to fish for some reds
If everyone respected the land like they should then this law is moot. However, too many people do not. I voted yes and I believe arkansas already has a law like that
I like the idea of the membership. How does the boat do in narrow spots in the river? That is what I don't understand about drift boats. Maybe after using them some rowing becomes second nature.
Your correct, They do respond differently because there are different forages. This winter I want to work on making hollow body swimbaits that match the minnows.
