  1. The last time I was at the warehouse they had 4 or 5 boxes of returned reels. I got a pflueger president spinning reel for $15.
  2. I think all the stuff in the outlet store are refurbs, because a guy in alton gets all the returns from bass pro. He has a warehouse FULL of returns.
  3. I intend to build a wooden boat this winter and one of the first floats I want to do in it is riverton to the narrows.
  4. I almost never fish rivers that are deeper than 8ft, but a RC 2.5 gets down pretty good. I have become somewhat of a brand whore lately with lucky craft stuff.
  5. If it were me and I wanted a really good battery I would check out Odyssey batteries. They are sealed AGM batteries built to military specs. I run them in my atvs and they last very well. That being said, I have a pair of red top optimas in my diesel truck and so far I have been very happy with them.
  6. I dont think any part of a river should be "fly fishing only". I like the way AR does it and says only lures and no hook points.
  7. you were pretty inebriated sunday.
  8. I am not too upset about losing that crankbait. It is the 80mr version. I have caught at least 3 18" smallies on that crank and numerous others. I am going to get a couple more. There was a time when I would never spend that on a crankbait but I have had very good success on lucky craft stuff. BTW, spiderman almost dumped the canoe a few times trying to get away from webs
  9. The downside to trying new places is you have no idea what the river is like. Unfortunetly for spiderman, we were too far up this river and it is borderline not floatable. In fact it was more like a creek. That being said, the fishing was good, we caught quite a few fish, the biggest being my 18" smallie caught on a lucky craft live pointer(american shad). I also caught a couple decent largemouths, one spot(spiderman caught one also), goggleye, and different perches. The water was pretty clear. Here is big fish of the day: and here is a fish I thought at the time might be a shadow bass, but when I got home I googled it and realized it was not so now I have no idea. Any ideas?
  10. Gotmuddy 1, 16' buffalo canoe undecided on food.
  11. I caught a nice white crappie in crooked creek this spring.
  12. crooked creek and buffalo river both have northern smallmouth. white river has spotted bass
  13. I understand where your coming from, but I can't knock someone from trying to make a living either. The real problem is party floaters who do not respect the river. I have been a party floater numerous times on the north fork river and I have never left any trash.
  14. Had a great day fishing, took the riverboat out for the first time in two weeks and it was well worth the trip. We caught a couple dozen fish mainly on crankbaits but I caught fish on everything except a jig(minnow, tube, lizard/shakey head, topwater). As with last trip both of us caught a 18" fish, although I must say mine was thicker and girth is important I caught my big fish pretty early in the morning, probably around 8:30 or so on a lucky craft live pointer(american shad). Water was in the mid 70's and tea colored from the rain. The fish didn't seem to care. Onto the pics: the largemouth caught me by surprise because I had never caught one there before. I caught another one downstream.
  15. I can see no gray area if people are parking on his land. If people parking there is common place then I would post a sign with the prices and to stop at the store or you WILL be towed.
  16. Pssst, fighting terrorism is not what is bankrupting our country, it is our elected officials(both parties) who are overspending OUR money. BTW, no matter what we do, terrorist nations will always want us destroyed because we are infidels. I would rather a select few(who volunteer) to take the fight to them rather than the fight be brought to us. I too wish no one had to die in wars but sadly far too many people in this world cannot vent their grievances without bloodshed.
  17. I work saturdays so sunday is preferable. Where is the float?
  18. I went fishing today with spiderman and the water clarity was very poor(2-3ft) and we caught probably 2 dozen fish and we both caught 18" fish and numerous 16" fish.
  19. Wait, were you talking about obama? Sure sounds like it. Yes, we are far better off laying down and bowing to every third world dictator we can find
  20. when I go to lake norfork I launch/camp at boggy point. mainly because it is the closest ramp to my house(~9mi) but also because it is free. With it being free I have to deal with the riff raff which can get bad at times.
  21. The sad fact is that it takes only one bad apple to ruin it for everyone, and until we can get everyone to be civilized(read: never) the fee is more than acceptable. I would pay to park regardless just for safety. If you floated blair bridge to dawt mill and used their nice boat ramp to get your canoe out would you pay the $5 fee they charge to use it? Do you think it is wrong to do so? I do not. A landowner does not own the water but they own the land where it buts up to the water and in my eyes the fact that you can float it does not take away their right to own the land next to the stream
  22. Which portion do you own? If he owns the land at all access points I see an issue with you owning it too
