  1. be very careful, last year there was flooding that time of year. watch the weather religiously
  2. You know Donnie Moore? He fishes tournaments on norfork all the time. I white bass fish on norfork, and catfish some, but I like going out on the rivers alot more, its way cheaper to bass fish rivers.
  3. it depends on the time of year.
  4. I live 9 miles from boggy but I never fish norfork. my BIL fishes all the time on norfork, but he never invites me....
  5. nearly everyone who fishes norfork for bass does it for fun. if they wanted to fish for food bass on norfork is a losing proposition.
  6. I had a really nice fish on a black/silver cd7 but lost it...I need to sharpen my hooks.
  7. We put in at the ramp in norfork around 1. I wanted to test the jet out so we ran up the river. While launching I saw a extened cab toyota parked right next to the ramp(not even close to the handicapped parking area). I decided to play a prank on him so we turned his trailer sideways they were generating one unit and the fishing was sssllloww. I caught two nice rainbows right off the bat then fishing slowed down alot. white jigs were the ticket. I caught two undersized browns on jerkbaits(18" and 16") My buddy caught three rainbows then we motored down to the catch and release area and fished a slough where my buddy caught a.... we also caught some bass, real monsters: and a 12" right above ackerman I caught a 13.5" brook trout which gave the best fight of any of the fish caught today. I finished the day off by catching a 14" cutthroat. If it werent for the wind it would have been perfect.
  8. right bite baits makes a alabama rig for $10. Gerrys quick stop in mtn home sells them. I hate to admit it but I am going to try it on the river.
  9. a 18' lowe will be plenty big enough for holding two batteries. I have a 67lb thrust motorguide on my 16x48 lowe jon with a 6ft front deck(3/4" plywood) and even with two healthy sized people on the front deck the boat sits plenty high out of the water.
  10. It all depends on how much cf/s there is. If you figure it out you will be way ahead of the game.
  11. someone got a sweet boat for a good deal.
  12. I looked it up online and couldnt find anything.
  13. www.zigjig.net
  14. It will be a week or two before I can hit the narrows, I gotta wait for the baby before I can be out there with no service.
  15. Today I replaced the transom and the board on the jackplate, it needed it BADLY I used 1/2" plywood three pieces thick for the transom board. I used f26 to glue the wood together and used decking screws to hold the boards. the board that came out was a inch thick and I replaced it with a 1.5" thick piece so it was a tight fit. I made good use of the snap on deadblow hammer for beating the hell out of the board. Here is a pic of it all bolted up: Here is a pic from the backside. I used clear silicone to seal up all the bolts.
  16. I could find no info on the hp limit for CC, in fact I had never heard of that before. My riverboat is equipped with a manual jackplate that I latch up for my jet and adjust for my prop 9.9
  17. no, you can run whatever on norfork.
  18. I didnt feel like going out in the boat so I headed to mammoth to check out dam 3. Within 10 minutes I caught this 21" rainbow(it didnt weigh near 10lb though) on a white zigjig. She had just finished laying eggs judging by her belly. I caught about 15 fish all told, some on powerbait but most on the white jig. I was there for about 3 hours. Weather was nasty, but there were quite a few people out.
  19. beautiful boat taxidermist. I see you have the hurricane package on your trailer.
  20. what does he need props for? It has a jet pump.
  21. dont tell me that, I will have a baby here in just a few days.
  22. have any cheapish 5wt reels for a lefty(retrieve on right side)??
  23. I do at the moment(baby due any day), but that isnt the issue. Are the same people that are telling us now about impending doom the same ones that told us that in the 70s we would all freeze to death? BTW, I am not attempting to argue climate change. Climate change IS real, if for no other reason than the great quote "the only thing constant is change"
