You guys have obviously not seen the "Girls Gone Grabbin'" DVD.....

View a Girls Gone Grabbin' short at the bottom...

I can tell you, grabbin' / noodlin' is not an easy task. And more fish are taken with trot lines and other gear than with hands. And let me tell you... every grab is a "fair fight".... :D

THere should be a national holiday in honour of the man who put fishing, good looking girls and bikinis together.

I would rather be fishin'.

I will say that I have lived a blessed life - fished in lots of amazing places, been around the world many times, get to make a living doing what I love - but now that I have seen the "Girls gone grabbin'" dvd I realize that I wasn't as fulfilled as I thought I was. Now I feel like I can really die a complete man.

Just goes to show that if you put enough rednecks together with a camera - eventually one of them will come up with an idea.

As for the debate on grabbin - I agree that the vulnerability of ANY animal should be taken into consideration - just like my always asking for the moratorium on browns in the fall around the outlets. But I know guys that really decimate an area with trot lines as well - usually "local" catfishermen (or girls) haven't really caught up with the "catch and release" phase of evolution yet -they are still huntin' and gatherin'. As an accessory by association with hand fishermen in North Mo I can say that the most my group has taken in any given season in lbs. is probably on average around 100 to 200 lbs/season. That is gross weight. Once in a while we get a fish in the 20-60 lb range if its a good year. Yes we do keep all the fish we catch, however, we do eat them so we're not wasting any. I don't handfish because I like it necessarily but I do it for the excitement and commeradery. I, like Joefish, have spent many an hour sitting on the bank with rod and reel at hand and struggled to catch a cold. My biggest catfish on rod and reel in the Grand River is 18lbs. However I don't think that noodlers are causing shortages of catfish, but I don't know everything. Every time the river rises it should bring an influx of cats from the Big Mo or Ole Miss. My take is legalize it in impoundments and leave the rivers alone. Fish at your own risk. Its more fun that way.

Noodlers are just plum crazy. My luck I would lose half my hand to a snapping turtle.
