zsmith62 Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Plan on fishing stockton this spring and summer and want to know if anyone flyfishes out there..... Any advice would be appreciated. Zach Smith
Flysmallie Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 I do occasionally. Are you going to be fishing from a boat?
zsmith62 Posted March 3, 2008 Author Posted March 3, 2008 yeah, it'll probably be around the Sac river arm Zach Smith

Dutch Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 There are 2 Sac river arms. When are you going to be there and what do you expect to catch?
zsmith62 Posted March 4, 2008 Author Posted March 4, 2008 I'm not really sure, I'll be out of another guy's boat that we tow from his farm near Walnut Grove. I'd like to go after bass, but would enjoy bluegill just the same Zach Smith
sms_alum Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 I would think your best bet with a fly rod would be white bass. Not to mention that would be a great fight on a long pole. They should be getting ready to head up the Sac here shortly.
Don Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 I'm ready to try some whites and crappie on the fly. I hear the Little Sac can get pretty crowded when the whites start running. I'm curious about getting out the maps and putting a drift boat pontoon in the Son's Creek area during white and crappie time this spring. Anyone done that yet? Thanks.....Don May Don May I caught you a delicious bass.
Members SLIPPERY SI Posted March 6, 2008 Members Posted March 6, 2008 i was thinking about heading up to the lil sac area and fly fishing for whites but wasnt sure what to tie up or even what they hit on when it comes to fly fishing...anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

When the whites are looking for spawning grounds they will take just about any bait you put in front of them. Good colors are white/chartreuse/silver/red/orange/black/purple just to name a few.
