Rusty Posted March 6, 2008 Author Posted March 6, 2008 Sound plausible to me. It is a "mobile" station after all. Mobile for now and more than likely permanent later. They are going to see what the numbers are for the next couple of years. They are going to process the eggs on site, so the only middleman are the suppliers...It's a neat setup. They are even going to have auto skinners. He said that you would be able to have your fillets in about 5 minutes. If I get a chance tomorrow, I will run back down and take some pics and post them. On another note, I got to meet guys I had only Emailed and had phone conversations with in the past. It was funny when we introduced ourselves.
Members msubobcats Posted March 6, 2008 Members Posted March 6, 2008 Ya know, I got to thinking about this today and I think they are on to something. Now IF they would or could establish a season, from about March 1 to the end of April, make it from say, 0600 to 1800 daily and then make where all fish have to come through one of their stations, like you would checking a deer or turkey, they then could process the all of the eggs and possibly cut down on poaching. Does this even sound plausable? I think you might be onto something. And with an increased presence at the ramp, they will be exposed to the need for a dock, and the overall ridiculousness that is Twin Bridges during the white bass/spoonbill run. HEY!! Maybe they could use some of the new funds to build another ramp! Oh, cmon! A kid can dream, can't he? Go Cats

Go Cats I would think that with the amount they charge the out-of-staters, that should be one fancy dock and ramp. Chief Grey Bear Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Three boat trailers in the lot. Somebody that thought they were more privileged than others, decided to park their truck on one of the two boat ramps. Nice! To bad you didn't accidently knock it out of gear. I hate when I do that. fly2fish Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 I heard that they made over $1 million on the cleaning station this year, far more than they had predicted, this coming from one of the game rangers in Craig County (Greens former county). So I guess the $400K investment really paid off, now where is the money at?

fly2fish Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 What does the state of Oklahoma want want the roe? Caviar for the Gov. They process and sell the roe for around $200 a pound, they also take the carcasses to Joplin at some place that turns them into oil. They are looking at setting up 2 or 3 more on some of the other lakes here in Okla. Keystone, Ft. Gibson, Eufaula. The one at Twin Bridges may become permanent. HC
