$400,000 For A Mobile Cleaning Station?

Sound plausible to me. It is a "mobile" station after all.

Mobile for now and more than likely permanent later. They are going to see what the numbers are for the next couple of years.

They are going to process the eggs on site, so the only middleman are the suppliers...It's a neat setup. They are even going to have auto skinners. He said that you would be able to have your fillets in about 5 minutes. If I get a chance tomorrow, I will run back down and take some pics and post them.

On another note, I got to meet guys I had only Emailed and had phone conversations with in the past. It was funny when we introduced ourselves.

Ya know, I got to thinking about this today and I think they are on to something. Now IF they would or could establish a season, from about March 1 to the end of April, make it from say, 0600 to 1800 daily and then make where all fish have to come through one of their stations, like you would checking a deer or turkey, they then could process the all of the eggs and possibly cut down on poaching.

Does this even sound plausable?

I would think that with the amount they charge the out-of-staters, that should be one fancy dock and ramp.

Three boat trailers in the lot. Somebody that thought they were more privileged than others, decided to park their truck on one of the two boat ramps. Nice!

I heard that they made over $1 million on the cleaning station this year, far more than they had predicted, this coming from one of the game rangers in Craig County (Greens former county). So I guess the $400K investment really paid off, now where is the money at?

They process and sell the roe for around $200 a pound, they also take the carcasses to Joplin at some place that turns them into oil. They are looking at setting up 2 or 3 more on some of the other lakes here in Okla. Keystone, Ft. Gibson, Eufaula. The one at Twin Bridges may become permanent.
