Another Reason I Hate Golf

I dont get the hype about eagles. They are primarily roadkill munchers and over half thier diet is stolen from other predators. They are not stealthy or even swift in comparison to hawks or falcons. If you want the real bird of prey, The number one varmit killer of the feathered family, The Owl hands down is the most lethal predator with wings.

As far as doofus chipping balls at egor eagle, how many times did those birds swoop the in-field when Randy "big unit" Johnson stuffed the leather up one of thier exit holes? How many times did he throw before he finally hit one? Niether were intentional.

My father raises show birds. Breeds, sells, and has a rather modest amount of money in his hobby. Some of his chickens can go for 50 to a hundred a peice. So of course he was getting really upset when the birds of prey(primarily eagles) were picking them off at the rate of 3 to $500 a week. He tried nets and all the usual tactics to ward them off but to no avail. So he asked MDC what he should do to save his birds.

They said to shoot them in the act. The only stipulation was he had to turn over the carcuss to them. Needless to say, it only took two and his problems were solved. The others steered clear.

I really think that if that dumbo gets penalized for his lack of forthought that it will open up a buttload of crap from tree-hugging Peta types. Next thing you know, you wont be able to fish, hunt, or even discipline your pet. Its bad enough that todays kids are being raised without the feeling of what a switch feels like, but they also want to give animals the same right to the persuit of happiness given to a human.

I dont know about you all, but I like my steak rare, my fish wild, and my varmits(including birds) scared.

I didn't post this to be a jerk, just thought it was crazy that someone that wasn't 9 would do something like that and that those with him didn't say "maybe that isn't such a good idea".

I'm totally in the did something stupid club. More times than I care to think about actually.....

Phil, you're absolutely right. We've become a society of sensationalism, the media loves things like this. If only we could get some excitement or outrage at the stuff that actually makes a difference to society...

Trav, the only problem I see with your Randy Johnson comparison is that Johnson's fastball hit was 100% accidental, he didn't go out of his way to throw 6 strikes at a bird that was annoying him. Of course, it was one impressive puff of feathers when he did connect...
