Don you gotta quit posting these pics from the side imaging unit or I'll have to blame you in my divorce papers for getting one. Going snagging for the first time with guys at work at Roscoe in 3 weeks. Is snagging better on Truman or Table Rock??

I've never snagged Truman for paddlefish, but we tear them up on Tablerock. There are many guys I talk to online that fish Truman and catch a ton of big paddlefish also. You probably can't go wrong either way, it just comes down to which one you know the best.

tkite, well snagging is alittle better on Truman, but I feel we have bigger fish and not as much pressure. And the divorce is not my doing, you just have to go buy her something also, works for me!!

Well fished the open day and the day after, snagging one really good one on opening day about 60 pound plus, and had an even bigger one on that Sunday, but it took off and almost jerked my client out of the boat, we chased it and it finally won the battle, got itself hung up in a tree and we could not get it back out, we could feel it shaking it's head and diving down, but had to break it off once it got in the tree. Besides that seen alot of smaller fish being taken, but nothing really big as of now. Kinda strange, alot of guys had nothing then there were a few that had 4 and 5 hanging from there boat and everyone was snagging in the same places?? Biggest I seen was about 70 pounds and only one of those. Everything else was in the 30 pound range.

Good Fishing Everyone

was just thinking the same thing, more posts like that and im going to want one of those things..Never paid much attention to si. What are the pros and cons of them (except cost of course)???

Pro and Cons of these guys is well just that pro's and con's.. Pro's seeing fish that know one else knows about, finding areas that most will not find, finding deep water trees loaded with fish out of 100 trees looked at and so on and so on.

Con's well finding fish and cannot figure out how to catch them, Spending to much time looking and playing with it, the cost, the wife getting made because you bought one, now wanting to buy one for the front of the boat, and so on and so on..

Besides that they are really neat, I had two SI training trips this week and these guys could not believe what they were missing once we got them configured right and really started looking for things, also being able to use the GPS and the SI together making these a really neat tool that is a must have and worth every penny in the long run..

Don,

We landed 7 opening night snaggng down there and it was just like you said, everybody was snagging in the same areas and some had more fish than others. I think we snagged from midnight to 6am and caught every fish between 2-3:30 AM. There must of been a heck of a school of fish in the area because it was crazy and then nothing the rest of the night.

Out of the 7 fish, only one was a sow and she wasn't very big, only 47 lbs. What are did you guys target? We caught our fish at Ashercane Bottoms where I think every boat in the river was at opening night.

Seth, we stayed down around flat creek to about 1 mile on up, we tried the flats up there by where you were but no luck at all. Should have went out early like you guys but just could not get everyone to get up.. Started at 8:00am looks like we missed alot.. Still had a fun day..

Hey Don great pictures again. I think you need to get some type of commision from Humminbird for selling thoes Si's :D

What chart speed and sensitivity setting are you using to get thoes pictures? I have my 797 and love it, but need to tweak both the transducer and the setting to get some really good pictures. I hope to be posting some great pictures of crappie and white bass with the results in the next couple of weeks. The one I really want to post is a big school of feeding stripers/hybrids down on Beaver Lake.

Jaybird, well I wish on the commission thing, not going to happen my name is not Al Linder or Hank Parker.... Just a good old country boy that loves his toy's...

Anyway as far as the screen speed I set to my liking fast when I'm looking around then I will slow it down when I really want to see something..

As far as the sensitivity here is a special trick... For Harder bottoms, like rock, gravel ect.. you must set it LOWER below 10 for softer bottoms like mud or sand you Must set it HIGHER above 10... Play with this sometime and you will see what I'm talking about.. If the sensitivity is too high everything will look bright white, too low very dark.. Make sense.. play with it and you will see...
