jscheetz
I say we put together a petition of sorts on the browns via this board to send to MDC - I know Phil has said it probably wouldn't make a difference to them, but hey - all changes have to start somewhere right??? Let's do it. Gonefishin - now you are on to something - branding!! Maybe we should do like they do in some states where when someone gets arrested for soliciting a prostitute he has to have a sticker on his car that proclaims that - - - - or MAYBE......... If someone gets busted shuffling then they have to fish with a bright orange vest that says "Shuffler" on the back??????? Ryan - good to see other players here! I have too much gear for in the studio, but touring the main rig I am mostly playing is Fender Strats through a Yamaha/Soldano tube head through 4x12 cabs - although I have an old modded fender twin that I use quite a bit as well. Sort of depends on the situation. At least that's what I tell my wife - "I really NEED that amp for this recording" Come to think of it - it's sort of like flyrods There must be a special place for her in Heaven - she married a musician AND a flyfisherman! Members hoover25
.......I could bring a wall of amps down to the river that would be so loud that it would literally peel the skin off your forehead as you were trying to fish. You wouldn't be the first. During the tourist season, I have personally witnessed cars parked on that road opposite of the hatchery with their stereos CRANKED....I could hear the base in my bones and this was at like midnight. Only one time it was cool cause I wasn't catching anything and the car had on Lynard Skynard's "Tuesdays Gone".....most of the other times I wished I had my paddlefish rod handy

Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 20, 2006 Root Admin Share Posted February 20, 2006 Brown rule - you might as well make brown catch-n-release year round because I'd say 90% of the legal brown caught and kept are during the spawn below the dam. Out of our guests during the year, I bet I don't have more than 6 legal browns caught in the main lake and another 6-10 caught below the dam. Compared that with the legal browns caught during the spawn... not even close. So why not make browns catch and release only? Would that upset the management model of the lake? As for the shuffling petition, I'll start it.
Wayne SW/MO
How about complete catch and release above?? Fall Creek, Koa somewhere in there. Markers for the outlets with no fishing in them. We don't have but one tailwater, and its so popular that it should be made an experience producing area. Its not going to eliminate anything in reality because there will still be about 25 miles of catch & kill water. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman. Do you build for other people? Wayne - I am with ya on that one - seems like the best way to do it, would sure make for a great fishery - What do we have to do to get it rolling - I am up here in KC, but would do whatever to be involved - JS "We are living in the midst of a Creation that is mostly mysterious - that even when visible, is never fully imaginable". -Wendell Berry-
